Lightshed analyst says the ESPN deal is even better than expected
The new deal doesn't include the library (Netflix a frontrunner) it doesn't include NXT PPV's so they can shop that elsewhere, saving millions of dollars in production costs

>smackdown canceled because the wwe universe is too broke to attract advertisers
>wwe proceed to split their product up across multiple platforms that their fanbase cannot not afford
It’s not going to be the booking that kills them. It’s gonna be this.

In reality Rampage was canceled because AEW is unwatchable dogshit while WWE continues making record profits, but keep oinking, pig on the wheels.

Why bother? If their Raw catalog is anything to go by they'll upload like 10 shows and call it a day. They don't want to waste the bandwidth on old shit.

You can literally save money with their new deal. If you have a cable package, which you do if you watch SmackDown, you can get the new ESPN service for free if your package includes ESPN, which it almost certainly does.

>Library is going to be separate
>NXT PLE's are separate
Oh, come the fuck on. If the library goes to Netflix I won't be mad cause I already have that. But if NXT PLE's go to some random other streaming service I'm just gonna pirate them. Probably gonna have to pirate the main roster PLE's next year because $30 a month for this ESPN service is pushing it.

would be cool for the back episodes to all end up on netflix, but I ain't paying no $30 a month for espn
Anonymous No.18477114 >>18477293
>>18476991
>>18477054
No one wants all the back episodes because its a ton of space to devote to something no one is actually going to watch. Is it cool that you can bring up a random Raw from June in 1995? Sure, but its not like Seinfeld or Friends or something where people are going to bingewatch seasons of it, and you're just wasting screen space and hosting data no one cares about.
If anything I'd expect them to start uploading old Raw's and PPVs even more to their vault channels on youtube.

then why does the OP image talk about the back library?
Anonymous No.18477324 >>18480125
>>18477293
Because unlike the Peacock deal its not included in the deal they just signed and theoretically WWE could sell it off to someone off. However, Peacock, Netflix, and now ESPN have all not wanted it for reasons I mentioned, so it's likely they'll just sit on it and upload it to Youtube, or maybe even recreate the Network as their own personal vault, unless something like Paramount+ or hilariously even HBO Max would want it.

Best solution for the back catalogue would be Netflix or a revamped WWE Network
Vault YouTube channels would work too but the content gets uploaded at a slower pace there

You'll be living in a cardboard box if you spend $300 per month on all the streaming services.
People who lived in houses are able to afford that because they're not financially illiterate unlike you.
