It's genuinely amazing how many of you retards think WWE fans are going to watch TNA on a regular basis. The cycle for the past 18 months has been;

Because Tony is the coddled, autistic son of a billionaire who's never had an actual job in his life and has zero business sense. He's always been able to fall back on Daddy's Money so he doesn't understand to take an offer when it's given to you. That's why the WBD negotiations got dragged on as long as they did. Tony kept holding out assuming they'd give him more; instead he had to settle for less than what they initially offered, and had to cancel Rampage.

He was trying to package ROH and AEW together for a larger topline figure. I'm not even sure if ROH is still being booked at this point, but yes, passing on the CW thing was a big mistake.

The other thought was that it was "loyalty" to WBD but that in itself is retarded, and doesn't make sense anyway since why talk to CW in the first place in that event.

>“I definitely think it’s a value add for AEW and ROH to be aligned with media rights that are coming up for AEW in 2024. It’s going to be a very exciting time for AEW and it’s great to have ROH there as far as strategic value.”

>“As far as the [ROH] TV rights, we’ve had a lot of interested parties. It’s definitely something I’ve been holding onto and haven’t had a lot of detailed conversations. I think CW is a great network and we did have a visit. Dennis visited us at the Forum last year and was great. I have a lot of respect for Dennis Miller and the CW folks. The timing for us wasn’t necessarily right, but there is a lot of great, interested, people in the marketplace in both AEW and ROH. For 2024, it will be really exciting time for pro wrestling and ROH added good value going forward.”

Two other things not regularly discussed on this board...

the new TV deal between AEW and WBD is only for 3 years with a 4th year option. AEW will soon be right back in this position.

it was widely reported and perhaps even expected that the new AEW-WBD partnership would open doors for new linear and/or streaming content to be developed by AEW for WBD. Eight months later the only movement on that front is the cancelation of Rampage and passing on Shockwave.

ONE LAST POINT.... name me One (1) AEW contract that goes beyond 2027. There aren't any.

That makes sense, I know WWE sperged out over the dollar figure, didn't know the deal went into 2028. But if you're gonna push him as a top guy and strap him it makes sense to lock him up, especially if WWE wanted him back and was talking to him - not sure.

I would be curious to see if AEW extends or signs more talent into 2028. That should tell a lot about whether TK thinks he Warner will pick up the option year and if there's another tv deal coming after that.

ROH basically doesn't exist outside of the AEW roster, but it could. But Tony doesn't want it to.

The weekly ROH "shows" have squash and slop matches with the occasional banger. But for PPVs, they push out all the regulars and borrow AEW stars instead. So what's the point? What are you even building with the weekly shows when you push all those guys away (or job them out) when it's "PPV" time? It would be like an NBA team sending their bench players down to the G league to take all the starting roles, and move all the draft pick/developing players to the bench. What the FUCK is the point?

>The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, Evil Uno & John Silver) defeat The Frat House (Cole Karter, Griff Garrison & Preston Vance) (w/Jacked Jameson) (10:29)

You can't possibly convince me that the Dark Order "needed" to win this match, they don't. Come out, get your crowd pop, interference/cheap shot, Frat House gets the win. The only reason you do otherwise is because you're running Frat House contracts out until you cut them all. Total waste of airtime.

Pretty much. NXT going head to head wrecked it because the audience had a large crossover and whilst it did its job of stopping AEW’s early momentum, it ruined NXT’s reputation and bruised HHH’s ego. Took years to rebuild NXT again, and even that required lots of main roster cameos, crossovers, and nostalgia.
Now they can run the plan again only this time they can happily sacrifice TNA to the wolves without worrying about their own shows taking a head to head hit.
