So it's not hard to reason out a scenario where talent isn't signed into 2028 and beyond because of the uncertainty surrounding the 2028 option year and future beyond that point in time.

I used to be against AEW crashing and burning, now I welcome it. WWE is still getting $5 billion from Netflix, billions from USA and ESPN, whether AEW is in business or not.
