ECW wasn't deathmatch shit. They actually wrestled in ECW, they used weapons and had hardcore matches, but they also were mostly good wrestlers.
This yardtard modern deathmatch shit is very unskilled. They are literally just hitting each other with weapons, doing convoluted stunts, and barely do any actual working. The pain tolerance is impressive, their willingness to hurt themselves is entertaining. I won't pretend like being fearless doesn't require skill, but it is only one part of being a trained wrestler.
Pro wrestling training involves overcoming physical, mental, and social challenges. Learning new things is scary, the first time you climb on the top tope is scary, bumps hurt, running the ropes hurt. Being in front of a crowd is nerve-wracking. Learning how to work a crowd takes years. Then executing everything well takes even longer.
I won't say that I don't respect deathmatch guys. But I don't like that it is lumped in with professional wrestling. It's a completely different thing. Different skills, different appeal.
Tldr; ECW wasn't deathmatch shit
