i liked ashante but this was clearly coming.
he was probably on a main roster contract in NXT, while only being used infrequently, and only ever to job. after the dion feud ended so dion could be in dorkstate (retarded) the karmen thing didn't really work and they wrapped that relatively quick. karmen hasn't been doing anything but jobbing since either.
his gimmick of being a sinister pepe le pew type character was mildly over but was clearly never going to work on the main roster, and he's 35, so i'm sure they saw it was now or never, and they chose never.
he's not a bad worker, but i doubt AEW takes him because retard swerve has heat with the rest of hit row. there's a good chance he joins flop dolla in TNA.
this is his second to last match and though he's kinda the third wheel, the match is really good and shows what he can do. to me his WWE legacy is this match, all the fuckboy backstage segments, and bailing velveteen dream out of jail (based).

Well, that was a professional and well written note of leaving. You gotta give Tehuti credit for it.

As an performer, you can't really put much on him. He's the kinda guy that can put a good match and be forgotten about next week, good worker but something is missing to be a star, never a great.
His character work as the womanizing skunk of NXT was definitely the best and memorable work he's done. Being a background guy in Top Dollas crap faction and what ever short lived duos he was in were forgettable. Unfortunately his sex pest arc was sacrificed on the altar of a romance angle with someone he had no on screen charisma with, I'd say that partially killed his last shot at making it in the company.
Over all a both a victim of booking and not standing out on his own merits and way too long on the pay roll not to make more out of it by sheer lack of opportunities and not batting over the wall by year 4.

I think when guys get demoted to NXT, it's almost always because the company has already decided not to renew them, but they might as well use them in NXT. Dijak and Corbin both did excellent work in NXT, but it didn't matter.
