Does anyone know when the "hard cam side" started being a common thing in WWE, in terms of being the side with empty seats/tarps?
I don't remember seeing/hearing about that shit back in the Attitude era. I just assumed all sides of the arenas they were in were full for every Raw/SD/PPV

I first started noticing in the late 00s/early 10s. Mainly on Smackdown, which was a complete afterthought of a show, not even B-tier next to Raw, where Cena's match and Cena's feud were the only thing that mattered and that had any effort put into it in the whole of WWE for a solid 7-8 years. Smackdown arenas were half empty week after week around 2010-2011 and so naturally they sell all the camera-facing tickets first and leave all the empty seats behind the hard cam.

Kinda glad there's a portion of AEW and WWE fans who will bail if the slop becomes irredeemable. They still eat shit, but at least some of them have a limit and just won't show up anymore. Only difference is WWE can always get them back, but AEW hasn't proven it can yet.
