build ups were different back then. you didnt do face vs face. most matches you saw were from talent vs jobbers. the big fights were on ppv and big events. weekly shows were angles. the time you actually get two MEGA STARS in the same ring and against each other was rare. it was like everything was built up to this point. watching wrestling as a kid was exciting
