Sometimes wrestling is obvious and predictable. Sometimes the face overcomes the odds and wins, despite their age, despite their injuries, despite their opponents cheating. It was obvious that Hulk Hogan would beat Andre at WrestleMania III, it was obvious that Sting would take the belt off Flair, it was obvious that Austin would defeat Vince, it was obvious Bryan would defeat the corporation, it was obvious NJPW would defeat the invaders from UWF and UWFi (and WAR), etc etc etc.
Not everything has to be a swerve or a shock. Sometimes we want to see the good and logical ending.

You don't like Tana winning because it'd be predictable but you don't like Oiwa winning because it'd be a shock? I thought you were advocating FOR an unpredictable event... wouldn't it be a shock for a young wrestler to win the G1 in his first attempt? It was certainly a boost for Okada when he did it.
>Taichi
Again, a completely unpredictable choice and it upsets you? I wouldn't want this outcome but it would certainly be interesting to see how it could be achieved and, again, I was only noting better outcomes than the failed DDT Ace/AEW midcarder winning
... not necessarily "good" winners. Just better than the junk we got.

The top heel and top merchandise mover winning the G1 is bad? Is it too predictable or too unexpected this time? I need to know which direction you've flip-flopped this time. I'd think the top heel winning the G1 and causing chaos to the title scene would be pretty darn good... but I guess you were worked by HoT? I hate when heels are good at their job too. :(
