What are your unpopular wrestling takes?

Personally, I think Steve Austin's heel run was the best work of his career, even if it did bad for business. Because you have this guy at the top of the industry and instead of celebrating he's turned into the paranoid king, afraid that everyone is coming to kill him, and it's too much for him to bear mentally.

WCW losing the war had nothing to do with bad politics or booking, and everything to do with the fact that the entire WCW roster together couldn’t match thr charisma and star power of Austin and The Rock.

If anything, WCW lost when they fired Austin before the war even really happened.

Austin single-handedly sold millions of Austin 3:16 t-shirts by cutting one promo. Every kid in school was wearing one in the late 1990s. You don’t have the slightest clue what you’re talking about.

This has been my hot take since 01 as it was happening. The biggest problems with it was 1.) there wasn't a hot babyface for him to face. Austin/Taker was ran so many times already.
2.) the invasion angle took place during it with That leads me into my actual hot take...

The Invasion storyline wouldn't have worked even if everyone was available. If anything it would have been an even bigger trainwreck with all the egos involved. It was also 2001 not 97/98 anymore.

the lame attempts at comedy with Austin, Angle and Vince were just cringe and unfunny.
most of WWE's attempts at humor have been painfully unfunny. DX. Santino Marella. The Boogeyman. R-Truth. Hornswoggle/midgets. none of that shit ever made me laugh once.

There should more focus on finding and training writers for the weekly shows. Possibly even training former wrestlers so they could write stuff that makes sense. That's probably more useful than starting up a zillion wrestling schools. People like Ed Kosky, Brian Gewirtz, Jeremy Borash, Ryan Ward were just as essential in shaping up the landscape of pro wrestling that we love as the agents and the head bookers. The disgustingly cynical -for WWE- and directionless (as in requiring a director with a vision to steer the clusterfuck) -for AEW- feel of the weekly shows is one of the main reasons why I cannot stand watching them anymore.
It also doesn't help that both TK and HHH are utter tastelets. No sensibility for quality production whatsover. Just brainless business major minded BS. And people wonder why the masses find this shit to be so unappealing.

most of the wrestling i have are Goldberg shirts.
and in fact most of the wrestling shirts I have seen in real life (on other people and in stores) were of Goldberg
Goldberg's t-shirts sales don't get talked about enough. people always talk about Austin, NWO and DX but I've seen way more Goldberg than all of those combined

NJPW was never good.
the only good Japanese wrestling was AJPW in the 90s and NOAH in the 00s before Misawa died. there hasn't been any good wrestling in japan since misawa died.
and just in general, japanese wrestling is majorly overrated especially by americans.

Shawn Michaels was not a credible or believable champion in 1996 primarily because his challengers were all big monsters that realistically HBK had no business beating.
Diesel, British Bulldog, Goldust, Mankind, Vader and Sycho Sid were all too big physically to lose to HBK.
at least the Mankind match was just a DQ but still that hurt Mankind a lot coming off of beating Undertaker in multiple PPVs (at a time when nobody would beat Taker).
what hurt WrestleMania 13 so much was nobody believed Sid had a chance against Taker after seeing Sid lose to HBK of all people. a giant losing to HBK is career death.
