OK, so here is a more objective, non console warring response to this situation: A lot of the wrestlers who jumped ship say they did it for the pay, and not particularly because they particularly believed in AEW, it's well known that the Yen isn't worth shit these days, and its value keeps plummeting, and Japanese salaries in general, not just in wrestling haven't changed much since the 90s, so for someone like Tomohiro Ishii, jobbing on Collision probably pays more than being a champion in Japan (he is also a dimeless bitch, but that's besides the point), so now you have Japanese stars like Okada who could have signed with either company ("allured" by WWE or choose the paycheck in AEW) and he chose to get payed absurd money, and that is fine.
Now here is where things start getting more interesting, booking! Tony is know to have objected to having his wrestlers lose outside of AEW, which is fine, you gotta protect your workers, but he has held other people's belts hostage in the process, particularly with Stardom and NJPW, which is bad business, I honestly don't know anymore what NJPW can benefit from partnering up with AEW, they were a decently niche in the US and the biggest and most celebrated promotion in Japan, now they have destroyed their reputation with fans and with their target audience.
