Hayden Colfax discusses her wrestling career
At 23, Hayden Colfax is already turning heads on the independent wrestling scene. The former track and field athlete has taken her background in speed and explosiveness and built it into a style that feels both daring and fast-paced.
“I watched Rey Mysterio and Sasha Banks all the time,” Colfax said in a recent sit-down. “They made wrestling look smooth and exciting, and that’s what I try to bring. I want people to feel that energy when I hit a move.”
Her go-to moves reflect that influence. “A springboard DDT is my favorite. It feels like flying for a second,” she said. “But I also love hitting a spear. That’s pure track and field right there, just timing and acceleration.”
Of course, the road hasn’t been perfect. Colfax has dealt with ankle sprains and a nagging shoulder injury. “I underestimated how tough the landings could be,” she admitted. “It taught me to take recovery seriously and to wrestle smarter.”
Now, Colfax says she feels ready for bigger opportunities. “I’m more confident every time I step in the ring,” she said. “This is just the beginning for me.”
