AAA is crazy
Well, since everyone now knows AAA thanks to WWE, I think it's also good that you have some information that will help you understand some things better. It's also important that you get to know well some of the luchadores being featured, as they may not be the best influence for your children. I have some stories to tell you, which one do you want (first)?

It's one of the factors, but not the only one. There's a serious family problem between them. Stephanie is someone who hasn't hesitated to chop heads off to get what she wants. She said so in her debut promo, right?

Vaquer feels untouchable in WWE and that's why he has abused and tried to harm La Hiedra, but that could change soon.

Since he was released from WWE and returned to Mexico, he was NOBODY. He tried to sell himself in Mexico as the greatest face of all time and the best mexican representative in history worldwide, but the mexicans didn't really buy into that role and not many were interested in his triumphs in WWE. He even tried to open his own wrestling/lucha company twice and failed both times. We all know about his despotic and egotistical behavior, which is why no one bought his attempt to appear as a kind of national hero. In fact, almost no one hired him in independent companies. That was when AAA, which was truly in the shit and didn't have a single big name on its roster (Vikingo was injured and Psycho Clown was unofficially out and opening his own wrestling company too, and well, Mr. Iguana was a nobody), that they hired Alberto (again) and bet on him to be their star figure

I won't bore you with too many details and will get to the point. In Mexico he failed for years trying to sell himself as a great man and a paladin of virtue. But when he won the Megacampeonato (the most important AAA title) and began to be who he really is, a vain, arrogant, selfish, egotistical, and despotic guy, he became the biggest HEEL in the country in last years.

He really made people hate him. He went on many TV shows to make disasters and behave like the imbecile that he is, and he managed to capture people's attention towards AAA. His way of insulting people was very unique, which became a kind of charisma. He did his job well as a real heel, and that's why he 'ironically' earned the respect and appreciation of the crowd.

>>18607870

And me
>>18607883

ADR got over as a heel, so much so Vikingo still gets booed for being Hunter's appointed champion and for dethroning ADR. JBL called ADR the best wrestler of the year and Rey Mysterio promises to bring ADR back, although what that means is anyone's guess.

Point is, ADR is ready for a huge return, whether it be to WWE (hope not) or to AAA, where he's been doing his best work, definitely heel of the year caliber work. I just think WWE is too homogenized for ADR, keep him in AAA where he can use all of his talents without hurting that fag's feelings for porking Paige.

She tried to look young so she spent AAA money on surgeries. Redpill me on Dalys
Anonymous No.18608746
>>18608455
Dalys is the daughter of a wrestling promoter in Panama. When she was a minor (I think she was 14 or 16 years old) she became the girlfriend of a very well-known and respected Mexican wrestler here in Mexico (who was already over 25 years old): El Negro Casas

Negro Casas brought her with him to live in Mexico and they later married (when she came of age). He also trained her to become a professional wrestler. Aside from the controversy at the beginning of their relationship due to the issue of age, they have been a solid marriage throughout this time.

The problem with Dalys is that when she belonged to CMLL (both belonged to that company and basically made their entire career there). She was a bad locker room partner and became hated by female wrestlers. Due the position and influence of Negro Casas within the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, she obtained many championships and opportunities above the rest. She's a very talented and a very strong wrestler, but her ego took away many opportunities for many female wrestlers to excel and that caused her resentment from many. Her coworkers call her a toxic element and are glad that someone like her is no longer among them.

Okay, so by then AAA was practically a ruined company. They didn't have a meaningful roster of their own. Do you know AAA's roster back then? AEW sent its best to Mexico. Did you know that Kenny Omega as Megacampeon was a meme that no one believed possible because of how absurd it sounded? Before the alliance with AEW, Omega was declared the best wrestler in the world. People here had fun thinking that Kenny Omega would be Megacampeon someday, the joke of that was thinking about the biggest star in the world (at that time) wearing the belt of the worst company in the world (AAA). Well, that did happen, because Tony Khan was always willing to send us his best talent and help AAA grow.

On the other hand, AAA didn't really have anyone to send. Only El Hijo del Vikingo (after he gained value and some fame as a wrestler after Omega named him as someone he would like to have a match with). Do you remember that horrible match where a girl named "Reina Dorada" showed up and proved she couldn't do a shit? She wasn't even signed to AAA. At the time, Tony Khan asked for Psycho Clown and Pagano, but AAA refused to send them. This is because AAA doesn't like any of their stars to grow too big and they prefer to keep them small so they can control them with blackmail and manipulation. An example of this were Pentagon and FΓ©nix, who became stars in the United States and around the world, and then returned to AAA (but this time as STARS and as part of AEW) setting their own conditions. If it had been for AAA, they would never have become stars.

What ended up spilling the glass of water was what was recently revealed about the night where Dragon Lee threw away the AEW tag team belt to announce that he was leaving Mexico/AAA/AEW for WWE. All this while Konan didn't stop throwing shit at AEW and Tony Khan for a couple of years at least while both companies had an alliance. That's what happened in general terms.

AEW wouldn't send top stars to AAA, even though said top stars wanted to go when contacted directly.
AAA was sending top stars to AEW and AEW was signing them.
AAA were featuring lower to midcard acts from AEW, but actually gave them stories and got them over. Then last-minute cancellations of their appearances started.
AAA higherups were starting to get annoyed then WWE stepped in and was giving them favorable terms, such as allowing them to use Rey for a video package, who is the biggest star in Lucha, so things were quite different from the relationship with AEW.
Dragon Lee was signed amicably and allowed to finish up properly in AAA.
During Dragon Lee's last match things were changed and he ended up going over FTR. This pissed off Tony.
Tony was mostly speaking to Konnan directly, and Tony had previously gotten mad about things said on his podcast.
From there AEW stopped sending anyone unless they had a clause in their contract that AEW couldn't stop them from other appearances.
WWE then made the deal with AAA over time, which Konnan had hinted towards for months to maybe a year or more beforehand.

Psychosis 2. Konnan also said something along the lines of 'if he lived up to the name of the original Psychosis he would have no problems with getting booked'. There is some drama around the right to use the name and between the various Psychosis people. Same thing happened recently in AAA and they turned it into an angle. There's a well known line they use which is basically 'That's not yours' as in they have no right using a name.

Twitter and other places are heavily influenced by a shill job that has been going on for many years by certain lucha bloggers, and all the major ones turned into CMLL fanboys because it is more match-based unlike AAA having more storylines and fuck finishes. There are a few people not as biased, but they are people like Kevin Kleinrock who is a megamark and just likes everything lucha and everything workrate, or Hugo Savinovitch who is Cornette-tier with the 'YOU EXPOSED LE BUSINESS!' and keeping it oldschool, except without the same cult of personality, so the Twitter lucha people have a stranglehold on the narrative since nobody outside of hispanics actually watched lucha before the WWE and AEW partnerships.
The Twitter people were further pushed towards the CMLL side when Konnan would interact with them and call out things they said or belittle their opinions.
The whole 'CMLL is real lucha' is another thing for them to cling to, despite CMLL literally being formed in its current state to change the historic rules of lucha and do things like make a foreigner champion, which was not allowed beforehand. AAA was the one that actually reduced the stuff added to Lucha over time which was more comedy and exposed the business, and reprimands their takent for overtly exposing the business. This is the reason why AAA fans are still heavily invested and they still have fans attacking wrestlers, etc. No hate towards CMLL, they are good at what they do, but the 'true lucha' thing is just marketing. Lucha always had angles, they were actually ahead of many other forms of wrestling in the extent that they took angles or mixed in real life relationships and things, Puerto Rico as well.

Yes, there is something too, but it's not much and it's not too interesting since the CMLL is really a very well structured and very orderly company. Their wrestlers aren0t allowed to open their mouths without authorization, that avoids a lot of unnecessary shit. They do have serious legal contracts so no one can do whatever they want there.

If you're really interested, I can get some shit out of the CMLL, but I repeat, it's not interesting at all. The most controversial thing there is perhaps that they have kidnapped the national championships, their problem with the original Kemonito, and how the CMLL blocks the luchadores who work with AAA from participating in the same independent functions where their luchadores work. About 10 years ago a luchador got into the ring drunk and that's it. There really isn't much to say.

Oh!, and they have banned Blue Demon Jr and El Hijo del Santo (heirs of Mexicoy's greatest legends)

It's not like Omega discovered Vikingo in a cave or something. Meltzer gave Vikingo vs Laredo Kid ****3/4 in 2019 and Vikingo did well in the reader voted awards from then on and by 2022 he was top 10 in the PWI 500 and praised by Rey Mysterio Jr.

Funny how all of this sounds ten times more interesting than Konan's drama with gayEW or AAA being an occult whatever
The truth is that CMLL is a ruthless carnie business who are just more competent at getting people they fuck over to keep their mouths shut, either because they get blackballed out of the industry or because they do everything to sweep it under the rug
AAA was an entertaining shitshow, but the CMLL office structure is a sect and they fucked over or passed over a lot of talent because it's inherently, for better and worse, nepotistic as all hell
The result is ten times better than AAA though, they're just good at what they do

I go back to the same thing. If you don't know mexican lucha libre, and if you don't know more mexican luchadores than Vikingo, obviously you're going to be surprised and think he's great (but nope).

Here in Mexico neither Vikingo, nor Mr Iguana, nor Psycho Clown are really loved. Those 3 who WWE/AAA want to sell you as 'our biggest stars' here in Mexico have been despised by most people for a long time because here many things are valued more than simple jumps or puppet jokes.

Do you find it incredible that Kenny Omega or Meltzer could be ignorant and wrong? That's because you don't know about mexican wrestling/lucha. And that's okay, it's not your obligation, I'm just trying to say open your mind and understand that the words of two famous people are NOT necessarily true. Otherwise, why do you think people in Mexico would be booing Vikingo so loudly? Just because we want Alberto to return to WWE? This was already explained in depth in another thread:

>>18578725

Don't swallow the narratives that some people want to sell you so easly. In Mexico there are a lot of luchadores infinitely superior to Shitkingo.

>have been despised by most people for a long time

Ridiculous exaggeration like saying most people hate Richochet or Bron Breakker because they're not as over as Cena or LA Knight. Here's a vlog dubbed in English from a Mexican in Monterrey. He also gives a different explanation why Vikingo was booed there.

Well, many people here don't like Atlantis Jr. But it is understandable that Atlantis is an important figure for CMLL because when Antonio Peña betrayed the company and took with him many important wrestlers to form AAA, Atlantis showed his loyalty and put the company on his back. Likewise, many don't like Lluvia (Ultimo Guerrero's concubine and La Hiedra's sister) and they don't tolerate Tabata (Lluvia's daughter) who was recently sent to Japan to train with that preferential treatment. But Último Guerrero is another pillar of the CMLL who has always had all his loyalty to the company. You can see it as nepotism or as a company recognition of loyalty. In AAA will they know loyalty and vision to the future or the plans on the future? I don't think so.

The same with Mistico, there were several candidates to embody that character but they gave it to Tony Salazar's nephew who is the best coach there and responsible for the quality of talent that the CMLL has, being the best in the world. Again you can see it as 'nepotism' or as the consequences of loyalty and efficiency. Bandido, Hechicero, even Penta and Fenix stepped into the Mexico Arena with their own merits as well. I'm sorry but what you're trying to say is not like what you're trying to say.

Suddenly Kenny Omega recognizes him, PWI puts him in their TOP 10, and then AAA turns to see him and decides to exploit that recent fame.

They began to sell him on the U.S. indies with the clause that he could NOT lose a match. And that's how he became more important, but at the beginning not even AAA valued him. Dorian RoldΓ‘n is so inept that even two foreigners had to tell him how to handle his talent (and I'm talking about Omega and Meltzer, because not even Konan had considered the Viking for anything).

El Santo, as you probably know, is the most iconic figure and the most famous mexican luchador of all and all the time (at least for the normies and those who don't know a shit). However, El Hijo del Santo is an infamous and repudiated character in the country. He never have action in Mexico because he became enemies with with the entire business, with all the companies and with all the promoters. This is because he has wanted to sue half the world for using his image, and he has spent more time in trials and courts than in the ring. He's a person who refuses to lose and who also asks for too much money that he really doesn't deserve. Although the problem really isn't him, but his wife, who is the one who manages him and who has ruined his career by trying to overexploit him. The woman has even ordered and denied him to autograph masks for lil' children just because they didn't buy him an original mask, obviously earning the repudiation of the people. Nobody wants to have dealings with El Hijo del Santo here, that's why he performs his functions and his matches in Europe in their own live shows since there nobody knows what shit he is.

As you probably also know, El Santo's great rival was Blue Demon. They collided with each other in the ring many times and even teamed up. Well, but how much of a shit and idiot is El Hijo Santo that he and Blue Demon Jr. can't work together thanks to his enormous (and fragile) ego. They're real life enemies.

CMLL has had legal disputes with both of them, that's why they both are banned from there. But it must be said that Blue Demon Jr is a great professional and people have always welcomed him very well. He has done much more in the ring than El Hijo del Santo and you can see him wrestling all over the country with everyone (except CMLL wrestlers).

No what I'm trying to say is exactly what I'm trying to say and you spent your whole first paragraph agreeing lmao yes Ultimo Guerrero is a great example, has been loyle to his capo, and we've got to suffer through the jobs he got for everybody around him.
It's always been the thing with CMLL, they've got some of the best athletes in professional wrestling, then once one of the guys makes it to the top and gets cozy with the office, his entire extended family comes in with pushes that aren't exactly deserved. outsiders have to slum away for years and too often get discarded in favor of much less deserving wrestlers until they quit or keep at it so hard they get over and the office can't ignore it anymore and finally gives them a push.
It's not an indictment lol, every wrestling company (actually every company at all) works like that in some way or another, but CMLL is the most egregious example. Like the state of the company in the late 2010s was largely due to these practices, then they rejuvenated their roster a bit, and their audience exploded. Hope they keep at it but describing them as a pure meritocracy is still a fantasy today.

Ok, do you know this guy? Probably not because he hasn't achieved anything since he debuted many many years ago. He's 'Magnus', Tony Salazar's son. Not his nephew, but HIS SON.

One would think that being the SON of CMLL's head coach he would be the central figure there or at least someone, but he's absolutely NOBODY.

He simply hasn't proven to be at the level required to be someone important, that's a fact. I hope that answers your question.

In the case of Último Guerrero and his family, he has certainly been questioned by the crowd for the push and the place he managed to get for Lluvia, for Tabata, and for his brother 'Gran Guerrero' who is probably the grayest wrestler there in the CMLL. I mean, the public is aware and constantly questions about it. But it's still not something that's causing riots and street protests. Último Guerrero has always been loved by the crowd and is one of the top coaches there, too, who delivers results and works very well.

That's why I tell you again that you can see it as 'nepotism' or as recognition and gratitude from the company for your loyalty, your sacrifice, and for your good work for so many years. Isn't that what everyone wants? If the company wasn't grateful and used wrestlers as things (like AAA), you'd be complaining that they're insensitive, inconsiderate people who use people as tools and then throw them away.

If that's your problem with the CMLL, or that's why you call them a 'sect' or a 'mafia', you need to get your ideas in order or find a way to cope better.

Everyone in Mexico that worked with him has the same thing to say about him. Just an ego maniac who never wanted to put anyone over. Wouldn't sell if he didn't like you and would scold young wrestlers all the time.
There's that story about the time he wrestled with Abismo Negro and he told Abismo he was to rough in that ring with him and Abismo told him to fuck off and if he didn't like it he shouldn't be a wrestler. Also for being such an ass about tradition and how sacred Lucha is he literally took his mask off for a movie that no one cared about but he felt it was going to be the shit because he wrote it.

The thing is, Magnus is a 'nobody' because CMLL is full of excellent wrestlers. They mass-produce them. And just like Magnus there are many other 'nobodies' who are excellent wrestlers. It's no exaggeration to say that one of those 'nobodies' is a much better wrestler than 97%-98% of the AAA roster, for example.

After many years, Magnus achieved a certain success when he was sent to MLW, not because he's the son of Tony Salazar but because he's a high-quality luchador like all those that CMLL usually produces. This is what happens when you are a company of excellence that is brimming with talent.

Now, talking about the most important figures of CMLL:

None of them are son/daughter or family of anyone there, neither in the offices nor of any booker. They are all wrestlers who have earned what they have with their effort. There're others like MΓ‘scara Dorada, Soberano Jr, the Panthers, Las Valientitas (Hera and Olympia), they're descendants of luchadores from there, but they're JUST LUCHADORES, not people with power in the company, just employees. From miles away you can see that El Hijo del Santo has no personality and that he has no self-esteem either. He has preferred to be at enmity with everyone and ruin his legacy in order to please his ambitious wife.

That's why his 'farewell tour' has been a failure, events with very poor attendance and no media impact. People don't appreciate him nor will they miss him.

Unlike El Hijo del Santo, he has done an excellent work in the ring over the years. People respect him and love him, because he has had a good career throughout the country and in all the companies, managing to deliver some moments where he has managed to look quite badass even at his age.

A couple of years ago Blue Demon's biological family tried to take away the name the image from him ((they still want easy and free money for copyrights). However, they did'nt succeed, and Blue Demon Jr is already preparing his heir to receive the legacy.

So perhaps the next Blue Demon won't have the same blood as the original, but at least he'll have the same love and respect for both the mask and wrestling unlike the legacy of El Santo since the son of El Hijo del Santo isn't interested in his legacy nor in being a wrestler

Well, it is quite common to inherit 'the legacy' (and the business) here in Mexico. People don't really care much, being such a primitive and tribal society, for the mexican the blood bond is very important. The son will always be compared to the father and if he doesn't measure up he will be disowned.

Let's say that in Mexico they're first given the benefit of the doubt to prove that they are worthy heirs. I personally think the opposite and I believe that if you really want to honor your father and his name, you must first prove you're worthy by achieving respect and recognition by yourself with another name and with your own work so that you can then put on the father's mask and take his name.

However, many mediocre luchadores prefer the easy way, taking advantage from the beginning of what their father has already done before.

Tinieblas (something like 'darkness'), a very important and very loved luchador in Mexico. Originally created as a comic book character and subsequently brought to real life. As a luchador he was a real success and made several films as well. He was given a small companion, that furry thing you see there whose name is 'Aluxe" (the 'x' is pronounced like 'sh'). They're a kind of magical elves from Mexican folklore. He has had an impeccable career and he and his son have their wrestling promotion called AULL (Universal Wrestling Alliance). Well, impeccable until a few years ago where he tried to get into politics and was a candidate for mayor. He was controversial because he refused to take off his mask until he won the election, and for not thinking about the rainbow rights of faggots (this was very based tbqh.

I can see why many struggle to get over doing this, especially with the newer generatioms. If you're watching the son of your favorite wrestler then I can see it drawing some sympathy but if you didn't see the father wrestle then who cares unless you're good with or without taking on the family gimmick.

Exactly, and sometimes it's not even about someone's son, but about taking advantage of fame however you can and hanging on to a name to stand out quickly and effortlessly.

Did you know that there is a 'Mini Vikingo'? That jumping dwarf is still nobody but there are already those (with even less desire to go to a gym to train) who are taking advantage of the legacy he doesn't have yet. Most of those luchadores end up being just junk products and don't get anywhere.

Yes, sort of. A comic created back in 1970. In fact, El Santo also became popular thanks to a comic, since he was really a very random luchador who didn't stand out in anything, but they took his image for a comic and that gave him fame and projection among the people. He wasn't born in a comic like Tinieblas was, but thanks to the comic he became famous and attracted attention.

There will be info about La Hiedra, but I have no plans to stalk about Sexy Star. She's a complete mess and has been out of the business for a long time. Her career is ruined by her own idiocy and mental health issues. That may be another topic apart (also there was a Sexy Star v.2.0 later).

Alberto is loved by many of the people backstage because he doesn't sugar coat things but says things in a funny way. He is the kind of guy that goes drinking with guys like Drew, Sheamus, Taker, etc. Dude is a man's man. Taker actually wants to bring him back and is trying to convince Hunter of this. Taker along with Jeremy Borash and Konnan are running creative in AAA. They all love Alberto and Konnan told Hunter directly that letting Alberto go would be a bad idea and that Vikingo wasn't yet ready to win the belt. Konnan wanted to do a long program between Alberto and Vikingo.

Pepe explain to us what makes someone like Alberto loved while Vikingo isn't. What do Mexican fans value in a wrestler? Is it size? Because MΓstico is a small dude and he is the most over star in Mexico. Is it charisma? I give you that. Vikingo is a charisma vacuum that is great in the ring but his promos are shit.

Well, I've already explained this in depth several times. You can check out the first posts in this thread and also this other post:
>>18607870
>>18578725

The reason people hate Vikingo is because he's a very very mediocre wrestler with no merit as a champion. In fact, he's been champion before, and none of his defenses were good or interesting. This time, it's even worse because he won the championship with help, and his defenses have also been with help. It's impossible for anyone to respect an imposed 'champion' and a very very mediocre and weak wrestler who retains the belt with help, especially if he's supposedly the 'FACE' of the company.

On the other hand, Alberto was characterized by doing a great job both in wrestling and as a character in recent times, being the number one HEEL in the country (also being someone really credible as a champion although he also 'won his matches by cheating').

(Part 2)
What we value the most could be the CREDIBILITY. If we talk about height or size, I can tell you that 'Mascarita Sagrada' (a mini version of the original 'MΓ‘scara Sagrada') is almost god. He's undoubtedly the best 'mini-luchador' that has ever existed, and people recognize his technical quality in the ring in addition to what he is capable of doing for his size. Mexico is NOT a country that supports queer ideology in any way, But Pimpinela (or 'La Pimpi' in an affectionate way) is one of the most loved luchadores by people for several decades. Not only did he prove to be a very strong luchador in his time, earning everyone's respect, but his charisma is also genuine and unparalleled. He's simply the person that he is inside and outside the ring, and everyone loves him. Alberto was despised by mexican people when he tried to sell himself in Mexico as a national hero and the greatest 'face' this country has ever produced. But when he showed himself as he really is, as an arrogant, overbearing and egocentric guy, and when thanks to that he became the number one heel in the country, people hated him but at the same time he earned the respect and affection of the fans for being who he REALLY IS and for doing a great job.

Mistico, after returning to Mexico after having failed in WWE, had a time where people also repudiated him. However, for several years he went through a path of redemption, demonstrating his quality and commitment as a wrestler, wearing different masks and names, which he made shine on his own. That made him the idol of the people again, until he received the mask and the name of Mistico again, closing his cycle and establishing himself forever as a (living) legend. He understood his mistakes, fixed them, and matured in the process. He is, by himself, a great and beautiful story to tell for generations. He's 'the path of the hero' made luchador.

(Part 3)
We value effort and ability in the ring. But also the charisma and quality of the person. For example, here everyone knows that La Parka (in his second version) was a bad wrestler, but he was someone who always took pictures with the children and who never left until he had greeted the last fan left in the arena. Many times he preferred to dance and make jokes in the ring rather than wrestle, but people loved him madly because he really was a great guy and didn't just try to show himself like one. He became an idol of the people for being who he is, without pretending anything nor acting like a 'good guy'. People just don't like being tricked and scammed.

AAA had a 'brilliant' idea trying to instantly elevate a luchador by having him win the mask of the most beloved wrestler in Mexico at that time. The result of this was that Mexico hated them both equally. Psycho Clown was never an idol, and Dr. Wagner Jr. went from being the most beloved wrestler by everyone to the most hated in the country.

What's happening with El Hijo del Vikingo isn't new. It's what happens when you do things really wrong and try to sell the crowd something that ISN'T REAL.
