Watching WWF once Triple H becomes a main eventer and you can see the immediate decline quality and logic once it happens, for example in the iconic episode where Mankind defeats Rock for the belt Mankind forces Vince’s hand for a shot by threatening to break Shane’s arm, Vince agrees and then Rock immediately storms from the back pissed about the impromptu match up, simple and logical

Fast forward a year later and after the royal rumble BEEG comes out to tell Hunter has proof Rock’s not the real winner of the rumble and instead of just showing it, Rock comes out and says actually it doesn’t matter and then a tag match is made…what? Hunter has always been a shit writer because that’s the exact kind of lapse in logic and delayed storytelling that constantly takes place today

it's true. the last quarter and tail end of 1999 is where the WWF takes a nose in quality that it never recovered from.
3 reasons.
1. Undertaker goes away from injury, comes back as the biker and is really the same again. even 4 years later as the deadman again the magic is gone.
2. Stone Cold is injured + out for 1 year. then he comes back and after the long build to him finally winning the title again he quickly turns heel to completely shit on what would've been a great moment
3. Triple H's boring ass hogging the spotlight and main event scene ad nauseam. he always should've been a midcard guy or a top guy somewhere else.

just like later when rock and austin left for good, and we were stuck with triple h on top all those years. it was like being held hostage in an abusive relationship

That story always bothered me especially knowing how it ended: an awful fatal 4 wat and Rock not even getting his coronation at Mania.

Knowing what we know now with WWE’s current booking it’s freakin obvious who was behind that, Hunter might be the least creative person in the universe, he’s laughably bad at his job

I don’t think Rock has won clean at the majority of the Wrestlemanias he’s been in now that I think about it or even won at all kek
