Pat McAfee has been absent from his commentary duties on Monday Night Raw for the past couple of months. While speculation about his return continued, Triple H has now confirmed when he’s coming back.
While speaking to ESPN, Triple H confirmed that Pat McAfee will be returning at Wrestlepalooza on September 20. The event will take place in Indianapolis, which he called the home of McAfee, noting that Pat is like family to WWE. He added that McAfee will be there to light the place up and promised an exciting night.
“Starting early September 20th, Wrestlepalooza in the home of the one and only Pat McAfee, who’s like family to us. You know, Pat will be there. He’s going to light the place up. It’s going to be exciting. Indianapolis.”
As we have reported earlier, WWE always expected for Pat McAfee to take a break from television due to his commitment to college football season. In the meantime, Corey Graves filled in for McAfee and has absolutely excelled in his role as a commentator again.
WWE WrestlePalooza is just a month away and now that Pat McAfee will be coming back for the Premium Live Event, we will have to wait and see whether his appearance will be a one-off, or whether it will be for an extended period this time around.

I think what's most funny about Pat is that there are literally ex wrestlers on comms (excluding cole and the other guy) yet Pat is the one who got the wrestling angle with Gunther. You just know Graves was SEETHING about that.

I'm pretty positive that when Pat was regularly commentating, he was also regularly drinking on those nights which is why it felt like half the shit he was saying felt like he didn't watch wrestling.

Graves did some testing a few years ago and was cleared medically. At least that's what was going around. No way of actually verifying it. He hasn't given any indication he wants to go back to being a wrestler though. He's better off as a commentator anyway. Far more job safety and longevity

Not the biggest fan of his commentary, but I do think these little breakdowns can be funny sometimes
