They could except the story with FTR and Edge (who would need Christian) was set up back in April at Dynasty. You could even go back to Worlds End last December since I'm sure that's why they did the Rated FTR thing in the first place. Ultimately the Hurt Syndicate have no business trying to dictate how or when or who they lose the titles to. Hurt Bizniz are over and sell merch. Their first loss should be super meaningful and be used to elevate a young/hot team. FTR winning the titles for the 72nd time won't mean shit. Whoever beats them for the titles won't get that big of a rub from it because they lose plenty (probably idk).

Jetspeed would be fine to beat them, but that didn't happen so let's get another team that could use a boost. Swervespray would have been good but Willy's dead, so that's out. Outrunners are a meme and only have a great match when they're carried by FTR or the Buckaroos. Not worth it. Brodido is the best choice to beat them right now. They're both great, Bandido has been arguably the best wrestler of 2025, and they're over. They just need to slide into a feud with them.

FTR and E&C don't need the titles for their feud. They can win them later after Brodido or Jetspeed gets the boost from beating HurtBiz.

Tony's right to listen to them because the logic is perfectly sound.

Two main event, world title level guys should be able to beat or be competitive with any tag team. That's been the case for any competently booked promotion. Just look at peak AJPW for the perfect example.
Brodido needs to get established a little more before beating Hurt Bidness. They already beat the Bucks and went to a draw with FTR, the top 2 tag teams in AEW history, so I'm not sure what else they can do to really get elevated. Protoshita would also be a good team , I forgot about them. Tony could book that match and whoever wins it should go on to beat Bobbo and Shelton.

The issue with Protoshita is the possibility of Takeshita getting the IWGP and you don't need to be trying to drag Takeshita back and forth between Japan and the US nonstop, especially with talks on clamping down on visas. The Don Callis Family though is so huge there's no reason why you couldn't form one or two tag teams out of that stable alone to throw at the Hurt Syndicate.
