MVP is right
Why are Indy retards putting themselves at major risk for little to no reward?

I went to local indie not too long ago and a dude took an unprotected chair shot to the dome with his hands cuffed behind his back. Busted him open. Tickets were 20$ lol

In 2025 unless you're literally being hired straight out of college for the performance center, already a long-time wrestler or you're a big celebrity like Logan Paul, only the truly mentally ill and those who have nothing left to lose in life willingly choose to work as pro wrestlers at this point. You couldn't make a living 20 years ago doing that unless you were in the top 1%.

lol thatโ€™s just retarded when they do shit like that. I never been to an Indy show and wonder if any around me do shit like that.

I just donโ€™t see how Indy wrestlers can even make a living. They hardly get paid anything and have to be on the road basically every day of the year.

Yes. Instead, do dangerous moves for $100,000 and 10,000 people, so you can end up like Big E, Price, and Haddad.

This is a stupid train of thought. How else are you supposed to get noticed by the companies that actually pay? WWE mainly is focused on college athletes with some indie guys and AEW is only focused on indie guys. If you don't do stupid shit they're not gonna notice you.

Being tall, jacked, having some actual fucking charisma, and being smart in the ring.

Sadly true. There's loads of nepotism also. Roxanne probably sucked Booker's cock, Dom had his daddy get him in the door, girls in Japan have to give Rossy rimjobs to go to NXT or peg Kenny to go to AEW, UK wrestling is full of pedophiles. WWE guys and girls are opening their own schools - just look at guys and girls like JD, Lyra, Saints, Jade etc

>Being tall
Doesn't cut it anymore unless you're freakishly tall. In which case you're not working indies long anyway
>jacked
Same as above. Even then depends. There's plenty of roid monkeys on the indies no one gives a fuck about
>having some actual fucking charisma
No one looks up indie promos unless it's something special
>being smart in the ring.
The big companies don't care. AEW flat out doesn't give a fuck and WWE is gonna retrain you anyway so you gotta do something to get their attention

He isn't wrong. I don't know why this even needs to be said. Just sad that nobody listens to anybody ever like. Sometimes there is bad advice or you get advice from people that you don't want to get advice from. But almost everything that the Old guard tried to warn the young groups of people coming up in the 2000s and now and the 2020s is that they are wrestling at a rate that is way too fast. Way too dangerous. I'm not saying you can't do everything but there's just a lot of people that aren't fully trained and fully qualified to do the moves. And a lot of these promotions are just outlaw shit and promotions. And even then it's like people like Kenny Omega people like kota ibushi and countless others were warned about hard-heading style that they wrestle how they wrestle long matches and they're like no fuck you old people. You all suck. I'm a wrestle like this. Forever's s and now they're all like in their late thirties or in their '40s and like their bodies are fucking destroyed and they're going to be feeling worse than Mick Foley

He's partly right.
Indy shitters shouldn't be killing themselves for a handshake and a hotdog but at the same time it's what they have to do to get noticed, it's just the way things are now.
Back then in the 00's every indie promotion had its own niche so you can aim to join one and nichemaxx until you get noticed. Nowadays every indie does the same PWG and deathmatch larp nonsense to the point fans are conditioned to want to see it. Nobody wants to see an old school style match when they could instead see some retard doing a 630 on a broken table from the 2nd floor.

Indie guys arenโ€™t on the road. They wrestle at best like 20 matches a year. Itโ€™s a big reason why everyone sucks now.

This is such a dangerous and toxic mindset, I genuinely hope you never get into anything wrestling related business wise. Go fuck yourself.
Should any naive aspiring wrestlers come across this: DO NOT KILL YOURSELF IN THE RING FOR ATTENTION. Good ring work is always a better sell than showing how "tough" you are. People want a WRESTLER, not a junkie who can take headshots and then be shelved 3 years after their professional debut because of nerve damage. There are other and better ways to stand out. But please take care of yourselves first and foremost.
