And not a single explanation why a company that allegedly has a thriving tag team division needs to take the titles off the most over act. Not out to defend AEW's booking because if Tony had any balls to speak of this would all be a non-issue and none of this drama would've ever happened. But it's at the part of the E&C reunion story that FTR need the tag titles so the two teams can have that match and they can do that moment at All Out in Toronto

Why do edge and Christian need the titles? If they have a good match of them overcoming the odds it will be a big moment regardless if they hold belts (which mean nothing) over their heads.
And you keep the titles on the hurt syndicate cause in AEW they are massive probably their biggest stars and the longer the hold the more it will mean when an actual babyface team whose combined age isn’t over 100 wins them.
