I've started to run into this "MMA mode/instinct" argument in regards to this story and I find it absolutely infuriating. MMA fighters are not some programmed golems that keep hitting someone until they are pulled off, it's a conscious decision that they make to ensure that they win the match. They do it in professional matches, not in training or sparring, and someone like Raja should know the difference between a wrestling ring and an octagon. And as you said, there are numerous occasions from pro matches where fighters stop and/or ask the ref when their opponent is no longer defending themselves.
