Blood's a cool visual but it's also just a device for storytelling like anything else and the more you use it the less effective it becomes.
AEW's use of blood is just a counterpunch reaction to WWE's near-abject lack of blood for like a fucking decade. WWE had none and that was lame, so AEW decided they should have it every other week and now it means nothing. Both are bad.

Having blood is one of the things AEW does right.
Shame the booking is shit. If Tony put aside his pride and brought someone in to run things who knew what they were doing I'd watch happily since, unlike a lot of people around here, I actually like a lot of the talent on the roster.

Pretty much. They showed they can do it in a way that pays off but then in the same night you'll have 3 dudes bleeding just because. There's no coordinated effort across the product. God forbid Mox go two weeks without blading because it's the only way he can get a reaction. When things are used sparingly they're more effective. Not really a hard concept. It's why Cody telling Rock to go fuck himself got the reaction it did compared to any of the countless times someone will say fuck in an AEW promo. There really are a section of advertisers, fans and non-fans who get really bothered by seeing blood. They'll watch CSI though or Dr. Pimple Popper where there's all kinds of blood though.
