The J-Crown was cool because it was a new idea that hadn't really been done before. They also did it while cruiserweight wrestling was at its peak.

It's been copied many times since (Kenny, Mike Quackenbush and Viva Van amongst others) and it doesn't do a lot but provide for a cool photo.
