He only worked in WWF because 1) Vince McMahon filtered Russo's ideas and modified them as needed, and 2) Vince McMahon took personal interest in, and heavily managed, the booking for the top storylines during the AE. Russo is not going to tell McMahon what to say and how to act with his own fucking character. That is just absurd.
And we know this to be true because when Russo went to WCW, he took an already struggling company out behind the woodshed and put two bullets in its head.
