They would fine if used right but shoving them down everyones throats as a top heel act and making them kick out of everything and look unbelievably strong in their matches knowing that they book themselves is what makes them come off as insecure self-marks. Also they aren't as funny as they think they are yet they think they really are funny because they laugh at their own jokes so they keep trying to be funny and it makes people turn the channel.

I don't mind them when they're heels. They tend to do less stupid shit in ring when they are heels. But like others have said ITT they're very obnoxious and not as clever as they think they are, although they can be funny. Have huge go away heat with me as faces though and they're on TV too much so even the gimmick making fun of themselves is losing steam. Should take like 6 months to a year off

I think they're a genuinely great team who can get a good match out of anyone.

Compare them to their contemporaries, FTR. FTR are good but they can't drag people to amazing matches, they need people to slow down to their speed and their psychology. There's a reason Sting wanted them for his last match, and there's a reason they're booked against a lot of thrown together tag teams, they always put on a good show. They can also work as faces or heels and still get the crowd invested within 5 minutes at minimum.

I unironically liked their early AEW matches vs Hangman/Kenny, FTR and Lucha Bros back when I watched AEW. Imo back in the early years of AEW I think they actually made an effort trying to be legit despite being spot monkeys. It's only in modern AEW where they're just phoning it in and doing silly shit.

So despite never being my favorite tag team, I admit that I had quite a few "sitting at the edge of my seat"-moments during their major PPV matches.

I like the matches in PWG where they get beat up. They're some of the most naturally dislikable personalities in wrestling and easy to root against. It's funny reading all of the posts genuinely melting down about how lame and punchable they look as though that's not the best thing about them by a country mile.
If they weren't so self-consciously ironic about their dorkiness when they're working heel, they'd be a lot stronger as an act. But they're just way too uncommitted to their own bits to be consistently interesting.
I'm not saying it's the most compelling stuff in the world, but I think Ricochet in AEW has done a better job at being a stooging heel in that style because he's far more willing to be laughed at instead of with.

They can have good matches. At their best they're like a discount prime-Motor City Machine Guns which is pretty entertaining. Spot monkeys but impressive spot monkeys. The problem is they like to do the absolutely worst indie spots and comedy spots that MCMG never did. And even in the Cuck's better matches they like to set up over corographed shit. I like their current gimmick too, but a lot of people hate them because of their bad habits. And the other reason people hate them is because they're too self-marky to get rid of them. Also they've ridden Omega's and others coattails for years. They're friends with all sorts of more talented people in AEW or WWE so they look like suck ups.

I don't despise them like most people here but I totally get why people do. And agree with a lot them somewhat which is why I don't rate them high even though they can occasionally be funny or have a good match. If they were smart they'd take a year off and have someone like Ricky Morton train them but their egos are too big.
