Shane O'Mac
Was Shane legit crazy? Why did he do these absolutely INSANE bumps when he didn't have any professional wrestling training, nor did he need to prove anything to anyone? What was driving him to do all of this shit? Dude was legit a better entertainer than 90% of the roster back then - and he was the damn owner's son!

>dropping on your head makes you a man
That didn't end up working to well for Benoit now, did it?

He could afford to bump like that because he wasn't on TV as often. Which motivated him to have the sickest bumps.

His was chasing his father’s approval but Vince is a shoot psycho and never gave a fuck. If Shane died in one of his crazy spots Vince would’ve taken advantage to pop a rating.

He did some amazing stuff. But, he also didn't have to deal with the grind the rest of the guys did. He had plenty of time off and didn't have to be on the road.
Always thought he was a good character though. Obviously growing up in the business had a positive effect for him in that regard. He could have done more in the business if he wanted.

Correct.. or working 3-5 nights a week on the road and dealing with constant nagging injuries.

maybe - but just look at that spot at king of the ring. Had he fell 1cm in a different direction he could have legit paralyzed himself for life. No amount of rest recovers you from that.

He was trying to simultaneously gain the approval of his father and also prove to the boys in the locker room that he could hang with them.

Watch the McMahon Netflix doc.
All of this was to impress Vince and get a pat on the back and his approval.
He never got it.
So just got progressively crazier and crazier.

He did have something to prove because he was the bosses son from a rich family.

Some valid points here but I think everyone is forgetting White excellence.

He was trying to compete with Stephanie for Daddy's love. And unlike her, he couldn't rely on incest sex to shore up his spot.
