.Some number content , 2nd weekend drops for an average movie is around 50%. Less than 35% amazing, 35-45% good, 55-65% bad, more than 65% is shit.

As a film follower this might be actually worse than the opening weekend flop number, you can cope with a bad opening weekend and make excuses of marketing or outside circumstance.. But a 70% second week drop is saying the people who did watch it told their friends to avoid it and it sucked. This at times happen to big budget huge opening slop movies but for this to happen to an "Oscar hope" with an already small opening week is an absolute disaster and now way the Oscars are going to touch this bust

It's not just the budget, but horrible word of mouth. Compare this to Iron Claw which also might have had a disappointing opening weekend ($4.9M) but because it was talked so well from audience it made the same money with $4.6M only a 4% drop and $4.5M a 2% drop the next two weeks giving them $30 Million in three weeks on a $16 Million budget.

Smasher went from 5.8 to 1.8 M, by weekend 3 it will be under a milly. Iron Claw was able to get to $30M overall after the third weekend because of consistent positive word of mouth, SM isn't hitting $15 Million because of a huge drop off and that nobody cares
