Nah it's had it's flaws but its been mostly good since summerslam. Meanwhile AEW has been mostly bad since All In. This is coming from someone who watches both shows.

All of my favorite promotions either ran at a loss or were money laundering for the yakuza.
It would have been nice for all my favorite indies to be profitable. But ultimately I would rather have a CZW that weird and violent than a CZW that cuts corners to break even.
Everyone hated Cornette’s ROH and it was the only time it was profitable. And even at the time I was the only person to realize all the complaints were about budgeting and not really the booking.
All that said, you can’t claim AEW is telling great stories and having great matches when the ratings have dropped by 2/3rds. Clearly they had a million fans at one point, and now they have about 300k. So 700k fans are not happy with the product.

I'm long passed burnt out on bangers. I listen to AEW more than watch it and I've given up on WWE. It turns out one good match in a sea of mid stands out more than banger after banger. According to WON, there have been multiple shows with multiple 5 star matches on them but none of them stand up to a 1980s WWF show with one good match on it.

Wrestling's entire purpose is the art of working crowds
Selling tickets and drawing ratings is the whole goal, not even in a monetary sense but because this is the only gauge for success
If crowds leave a show bored and don't want to go to the next one, it's because it was shit
Music, literature, cinema, other artforms, can afford the luxury of being self-indulgent and niche, existing solely for the author's vision to be expressed and meet his audience.
Whereas an audience is literally wrestling's raw material. No audience, no professional wrestling show. It doesn't need mainstream mass appeal, but there needs to be a crowd and a following. Wrestling doesn't live on the same way other artforms do, if it doesn't work a crowd and make them believe and remember, it disappears and never reemerges. Art that didn't find mass appeal on release sometimes reemerges later on when the zeitgeist catches on, never wrestling
