He sat under the learning tree with Ernie Ladd and worked with all kinds of black talents both in and out of the ring, on camera and behind the curtain.
That's something people just don't understand about racism.
If you're a racist, you don't work with other races, you don't indulge them, you don't tolerate them.
Anyone who does work with races outside of his own and doesn't discriminate against any of them, by definition isn't and cannot be a racist.
I betcha JR got ribbed all the time about that shit because of the reputation Southern wrestling had and the fact he's both an Okie and a legitimate equal opportunity wrestling businessman whose only colour of interest is green.
