I hate the mask reveal debut they always use a crutch in every single promotion. What is the point of hiding your identity just to reveal yourself?

Kinda genius how they updated his gimmick for the Attitude Era. I still like his good, old, cartoonish look, crazy to think he was near-Hogan level over at one point.

Why did people compare Baron Corbin to Big Bossman?

The Big Boss Man is the quintessential perfect example of a wrestler who successfully updated his gimmick for a new era

So you get that collective gasp when the entire crowd sees who it is. If someone just runs in and you can see who they are then different people are going to notice at different times and the reaction is going to be muddied. The big hood or mask unveiling let's everyone know there's someone there and gives them a second to be like okay who is it

Dress shirt with his fat gut hanging out or gay biker in the nWo look.
Both are good.

You could update any golden or new gen era gimmick for the attitude era pretty easily. Just make it a little edgier and you're done.

I understand the reasoning from an entertainment perspective but, what is the logic for someone to disguise themselves, run down the ramp or come from the crowd, and then reveal their identity immediately? For once I'd like to security actually do their jobs, tackle the guy, and demask him themselves. It wouldn't hurt whoever was doing the run-in because I am picturing multiple guards holding him down and removing him, you know, like they do when an actual fan incident occurs. It seems that the logic is that they would have been noticed on the way to the ring if they weren't disguised, fine, but then we are supposed to believe everyone working security all recognize the person demasking themselves and stand down for some reason. It makes no sense and they (WWE, AEW, and the indies) do this at least once a month now.
