If I or anyone was Tony Khan I'd continue the exact way at least a year ahead from today, that's the whole crux of the problem. There is no saving Tony's AEW because that is what Tony's AEW looks like and he won't let go of the reigns before the pony is at the bottom of the canyon.
People were saying Jerichoverse was a problem over a year ago, didn't change up before this year and that was more due to him leaving than a booking decision based on a vision or planned path for the show that comes from audience perception.
The very same thing is happening now where people are going "stop fucking given Monee belts nobody gives a shit about and adding to the pool of belts in the show". He won't do shit before late next year when they performing in the broom closet of a Denny's and Monees already out for 6 months faking a knee injury on Tony's dime.
Speaking of small venues, when the AEW tarping began and way before it, people online were saying book.smaller.venues., do the fucking untelevised house shows like bi-weekly or even once a month to build up fan base. Nah, it was a year of tarps before they finally bend over for scaling down,
Still no house shows though, gotta let a roster of 160 have their beauty naps so they don't look tired in catering or while they on their fucking CoD stream at home on twitch cashing in checks from Tony.
If I was in Tony's position, in charge and being paid, I'd straight up cancel the fucking show for a month. Make a deal with WB to show heavily edited best of clips for 3 weeks and then relaunch with a god damn significant changes in roster and presentation and that's all the hints anyone gets for because I don't work for free even if I'm yapping now for nothing.
