I actually am getting the feeling that he is winning the WHC soon. The storyline with Punk and Uso never ended and he is tied into the Vision. The chess knight being hidden in the casino pic suggests he is going to have a role to play and many are speculating Punk Uso won't have a winner.

Well the best case scenario is already past. He should have taken the title off of Seth, but we all know that HHH vastly overvalues Seth, so he always gets the spotlight and screentime.
I think we're at the point of Knight having to get a Rumble win to make people truly believe he'll ever be a world champ.

Getting a title is not good for his legacy right now. If he gets a title, you can be sure he'll have a short, meaningless reign and then drop the belt to Seth. It's better he doesn't get that WHC push and his legacy is that of the beloved underdog.
