He really got a clue way too late, but for what's worth once he got it he did get his shit together and was damn good, a good surprise between Triple H's bullshit and super Cena and one of the few good things to happen at the time which is way more than what 95% if other wrestlers get.

Vince regretted singing Mark to a huge contract and attempted to get him to quit via public humiliation. Well done to him for sticking it out, but his only good year was 2011.

He was really really bad for a long long time, and then a switch flipped and he became an incredible big man for the last handful of years of his career. You didn't even see him get better, for over a decade he was unwatchable, and then the next week he was great. i don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of this, like if he suddenly sat down and watched a bunch of Steve Williams matches, or a road agent got assigned to him and really coached him. Tragically wrestling journalist that can actually get interviews are such kiss asses they can't even imply a wrestler wasn't always perfect.

When he talks about wrestling with the air of confidence, as if he was anything but a shitter following orders, it just makes him look low IQ and sanctimonious to Vince's leadership. Just because he was there in the WWE, it doesn't make him an authority on wrestling. His unwillingness to look at anything objectively is also really fatiguing. His take on the Raja Jackson thing, where he later admitted he didn't even look in to what happened, is indicative of his low IQ energy. The fact that he was fired during a pandemic yet went back to the company like a beaten wife after some flattery is also hilarious.
