I was trying so hard yesterday to meme "Renaissance Era" but "Renaissance" is a tough one. Best I could come up with is "Pigpenaissance Era", or even "Rentajohn Era" but I just couldn't cut the promo

I love how there's Rock and Roll, New Generation, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression, but late 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s so far have no actual titles. Wrestling fans are all low IQ retards so most of the actual suggestions suck shit.

I hear "PG Era" but I think they use that to describe what I personally think of as the "Punk/Bryan Era" I'm not sure cause I was a Reddit/4chan tweener back then and ragequit when Bryan got injured. To me the PG Era immediately followed Cena beating JBL, but my parents became Jesus marks around that time so I missed the whole Ruthless Reign of Terror

The PG era started in 2007. The new ECW brand flopping and the Benoit murders media circus caused WWE to drop the raunchier parts of their show completely and become family friendly. Nobody can really agree when or if it really ended though. Some say it stopped with Punk’s pipe bomb promo. Some say it stopped when guest hosts stopped showing up on Raw. Some say it’s when Cena stopped being in the main event and passed the torch to Daniel Bryan. You could even argue it’s still the PG era since the tv rating is still PG, they censor when the crowd curses, and bra&panty matches aren’t making a comeback anytime soon.

If we are out of it, I would say Punk lit the spark, cause to people like me that tuned back in, Punk was God. It seems most of my smark friends went to NJPW after Punk retired and Bryan got injured. I couldn't be pained to catch those late timeslots live though so I stopped watching. I would come back for Mania, usually, but I only came back for real cause Punk was supposedly coming back to WWE.
