No. I have just had severe writers block finishing the update along with some depression and getting to come home from a quick trip out of town with part of my garage roof collaped following a bad storm. Kinda drained me since this will be like the 3rd thing I have had to have fix in like 6 months. I actually just got up from a nap to try and pound out the rest of the update.

The rest of the of the afternoon was pretty boring. Homework and studying for a while. Macy went off to brew some things eventually. Emmy went to fly a bit, extra practice. You and ‘Brey had a couple of quick spars and she helped you with some American DADA. Had her friends, including Travis because you knew that was what he really was, still was moving in pain join all of you for some fried chicken at dinned which now might be your second favorite thing ever. Stayed away from the salad. Got told that the next day they would be serving Sunday roast which made you salivate some; even if Americans fucked up tea? Maybe they could do this well since everything you had had was pretty damn good; Emmy would like it probably and their odd sweet tea or root beer had kind of grown on you a bit even. Saw apple streusel was on the menu as well which made a Hildy who smelled lightly of gun-smoke happy. Same for a Carl lightly smelling of sweat from working out at the gym building and was wearing a tight enough shirt you… may have felt a few things. He and David seemed about as well built even if your big brother was a bit thinner.

Had… well it was a pretty good day you though while laying in bed and nodding off to just random dreams, one of which involved a cat made of Neapolitan ice cream.

The next morning? You woke up a bit late, nothing too bad. Let Em just sleep in and you took a quick shower in the communal area with a couple other girl who were pretty good looking, Sarah and Trisha, and talked with a tad; let them try the expensive face wash and hair stuff you liked. Had Yuki come in but use a closed off stall since you supposed she was shy. Still said hi on the way out. Met a groggy Macy coming in like a zombie… she probably stayed up late reading. Said she was just going to get some cereal from the kitchenette for now since she did eat like a bird since too much food hurt her stomach after you asked if she wanted to take breakfast with you.

Went to go eat really quick before trying to rouse your street walker of twin so you could check out the Tree and got told by Anna who you met on the way to the dinning room that your tallest little sister was at a religious thing with her dad in a chapel on the other side of the Castle… not a large service, since most wizards were not religious so she would be around before long.

Were asked to save a few waffles for her at least with a little giggle since you were on your third platet. Cackled some since Anna was about 5 plates into steak and eggs; something which you honestly thought looked amazing. Had Vu join you with a little later with his own food since he craved a taste of home and was like 75% vegetarian given his like of the subject.

Chris and Travis were probably 2 of the best picks given their spacialties.

Soon, you and your three sisters were in an entertainingly decorated room to have a quick council before heading to the tree. It was relatively early and students were still frightened to go out some so you should have at least some privacy when out there; a small silver lining to the sad state of the student body; It also didn’t hurt that the tree was somewhat far from most thing that would have people around, save patrols by teachers, Caretakers, and the ‘Wudgies which Aubrey knew by heart.

Stood at attention when addressing you for some odd reason. “And… he is still hurt. I need him in good shape for our final showdown”, she said, and a bit of concern leaked past the mask.

“He is also the only one of us who can send a Patronus if something happens, ‘Brey. He has known that we are looking for the wand even before my twin. He is a history nerd and good enough to hold off a Hidebehind that took all of us to kill; strong. Smart. He is a useful soldier in our fight to protect the School.”, you countered.

“He is already involved, Captain ‘Brey. And those sigils? He recognized them from somewhere. If anything were to happen, we will keep him safe or help you take him down if he goes all Dark Lord.”, Emmy added.

Regardless, I think Chris is useful; we are going to have three super smart people and three good fighters. It would be a good…uhg… squad.”, your little twin sighed out.

After deciding and coming to an accord, the four of you helped Aubrey get kitted out, just in case, with her vest, both pistols, a SMG in her bag, all three grenades, several daggers, and a wooden stake. Had Macy and yourself loaned then shown how to use a couple of much larger pistols loaded with ammo that could punch through steel; were personally given a small iconic looking sub-machine gun since you were the best out of the three Brits with a gun. Got long knives for all three of you, even if Macy was hesitant around blades for obvious reasons. Were told Macy’s fancy borrowed pistol had almost no recoil because something, something, 5.7mm, over pressured AP rounds, something, and tungsten cores but just took away from it that they would cut through most body armor or hides like warm butter.

Looked over and saw Em check her massive god-killer and borrowed dagger. Load an empty chamber with another of your tanned little sis’ super bullets.

Grabbed your basic broom and Emmy her high-end custom then put them in cases slung over your backs after some stretches that Macy and to a lesser extent ‘Brey seemed very “interested” in given the tight pants, especially when you and her touched your toes or did splits to limber up.

You and Em did one another’s hair up in buns after a coin flip for what style to go with. Noticed neither of you felt like bras today in your tight shirts and gave your twin a little smack on the ass to get her into gear, which made the other two girls giggle from her yelping and bitching.

Smiled a little… something that might become a luxury before long. Might as well have fun before then. Gave a light tap on Macy’s butt and about the hardest you could on Aubrey’s backside; got a cute ‘eep’ from the first while the other got you a sore hand and a not entirely innocent smile. Fuck, that was like smacking a piece of steel! Damn it! Having a nice tight butt was your thing!

She had been working overtime the past couple of days and had Aubrey close off the little kitchen of your dorm to brew those bomb potions since she still had her principles and would not betray her Potions Professor’s trust by making them in the classroom after hours. Told everyone she was up to Version 0.5 on the war crime potion; scary, amazing, and oddly arousing. Were told she was strongly considering Bradford’s offer just to get to see a copy of Most Potente Potions or Webster Boot’s own antique annotated book on them.

Finally, you were told that Aubrey’s dad had gone home for the day to grab some extra gear, feed the cats, and would let you have some soft, easily concealable vests he had extras of which should fit when he came back; they wouldn’t stop a rifle round but they were stab and cut resistant; could stop a few normal pistol rounds. They were really just ones Aubrey had grown out of, yet it was still sweet of the girl and awesome of the Assistant DADA Professor to pass them on to you and your other sisters.

Smiled some, tossed on your dueling glove, knocked back an ADHD pill along with the rest and had a quick group hug.

Were the precautions excessive?

But you were not taking chances with this stuff after all that had happened, though you did have to stop your tall, curly haired adoptive sister from bringing a fucking grenade launcher too. Tossed robes and a cloak over your practical gym clothes so you didn’t look so much like you were going to redo Columbine or were a member of the IRA.

You all saw Hildy on her way out to get some shooting in since Aubrey had brow beaten her into joining the team with her “Kraut Space Magic” guns as the little nut called them; the girl with hair which was a touch shorter now yet still reached her lower back was… concerned to say the least by how decked out all three of you were but still sent out Patronuses to Vu and Blackthorn on your behalf saying that you were coming for them.

‘Brey could have worded that better since it looked like you all could start WW3. The note Aubrey’s mom gave her saying she could hand out non-approved weapons to people if Aubrey thought it was needed did a little to assuage your tentative and new Continental little sister despite her own gear looking as if it came straight out of Star Wars. Kind of funny, really.

On the way, Aubrey saw Anna stretching out some. Greeted her while the Lycan girl was on her way over to practice some Quodpot and then find the Headmaster or Mistress to see if she would be able to leave to the Forests next weekend since the change was coming. Aubrey wished her luck and promised to come, no matter what they said, to keep her safe. Smiled at how kind a girl ‘Brey was; like when Anna turned into a nearly unkillable, seven-foot-tall werewolf she would need protection, heh.

Got to the Horned Serpent Halls to find Travis looking tired with a large gun on his hip in all silver and Chris with… was that a fucking machete on his belt? Several knives too? And… a sun hat on his head? Like mom used in the garden? The guy had seemed funny and nice, even if Emmy said he was pretty strong when they dueled. Guess odd was going on the label too. Americans might not know how to make a good cup of tea and were traitors to the Crown but they were a fun bunch at least, especially when Chris explained that the characters on his tee was from an ‘anime’ called Lucky Star when Macy asked; said that the blue haired one with no tits was best girl. Good taste in bust size got put on his packaging as well.

Giggled some and apparently the sound of a voice exactly like Emmy’s was loud enough to summon up a tiny girl with hair like blood who came and hugged Em so hard it was like a tackle; made sense for a girl who was going with Anna to work on Q-Pot before try-outs the next day and who had been working on her spells beforehand.

Had Micah thank Emmy for everything she had done and would be doing for her ‘brother’.

Had that term amended by both Emmy and ‘Brey to ‘boyfriend’, which made her ears turn nearly as red as her hair; made her sputter some. Decided to be a good big sister and bail her out some. Asked if she could show you and Sensei Aubrey how quick she could toss out Stunners and Basic Casts against a couple of nearby trees.

Writing in a bit after my back stops hurting.

As you began the walk down to the massive, ancient tree, you pondered some and come to a conclusion. Chris and Travis, they need to know. Not everything, not right now. Not until you can trust them more and Travis already does know what you are searching for, but they need to be in the loop some. Both of them are smart and can probably figure things out on their own; Travis seems to be in this for the long run while Vu might be too, given how much Aubrey seems to trust him and how useful he might be. So, you ask the group to stop for a minute when you passed by a little storage building with a curtain of trees by it.

“Hey, girls? I think I need to talk to Chris and Travy for a bit; tell them some things. ‘Brey, Travy? Can you get the door to that little building open?”, you said, slightly hesitantly.

“Yeah.”

The Head boy and tall Prefect responded in unison.

So, you all headed in to the relatively small building. Hit the enchanted lights and cast a Lumos Filia over ‘Brey’s shoulder so she could see better when picking the locks on the large trunks.

“Of course, ‘Brey; I’ll teach you an even cooler modification to Lumos Solem too since you have the power to pull it off. Em, Macy? Privacy and detection spells?”, you said, asked of the other girls and got affirmative nods as the ran through a few castings.

Don’t ever lay on a single finger on my big sister!”, Emmy shouted out, rushed at the restrained Headboy and cocked her hand back before you grabbed her arm from behind then cried out for her to calm down while Aubrey tried to keep Travis restrained as gently as she was able, trying to keep from hurting the four lacerations on his back.

“Em! It's okay; he didn’t injure me! Chill out. Travis kind of has a point. Macy? Let him go. He won’t hurt me.”, you said in a soothing tone. When your twin simmered down some and your tall adoptive sister released the sand-blond, you went up close in. “Travy? You said you were in. And that means risks; we both know the wand isn’t here but I am positive something is, and it is important. Well, mostly positive. But no blood… for now at least. And? People are getting brooms out. You are getting ready to send your Patronus if something crazy happens; if I feel even a hint of what I did Monday or Thursday, we are going to the Stewarts or Aubrey’s mom. Fair?”, you asked, while maybe showing you chest off a tad.

“Fine. For now. But? I still think you are bad news. Maybe reckless. Maybe malicious.”

“You are the one who started me on this whole quest. Just remember that. Let's go Emmy. The rest, get ready if things start going downhill”, you commanded. “Travis, eyes out while we do it… and Macy? I suppose, be ready to put us down if we are overtaken with evil or something.”

You and Emmy approached the bare patch of Snake-Wood. Counted down and placed your thumbs down and push out your Magic and felt a decent amount of drain as the symbols lit up blue-white, formed a line to each other the ones to the trinity knot above them to no real effect aside from Vu gasping a touch.

“See? But… crap. Nothing.”, you sighed out as you took your thumb away.

“Sis? I can’t see them as well as you for… reasons, right? But just like last time? It felt like it wanted more Like something was missing. Like someone was.”, Your clone stated, while the others in your coven put away brooms or brought down shields. “There are three symbols this time, right? Even if one is just a simple trinity knot, like are everywhere here. The special ones seem related to something only people like us who have a direct, pure lineage with Salazar; but? The normal triquetra is related to everyone here. Every single student has passed under that huge one at the top of the front gate.”, Emmy said. Damn it; that kind of made sense but you were supposed to be the smart twin! And why was she able to kind of sense this stuff when you were the Seer!

She could use her daughter Rionach Steward to help with the sigils at the Hall but only if Isolt primed one first before the blood since they can only be seen, initially made active by a pureblooded descendant but are active for a second or two! And she thought she was the last one left. A failsafe in case her girl turned evil or some such! Backups and safeguards. Sounds like you would have loved her, ‘Brey.”, Travis called out, seemingly excited at figuring out another layer, another trick.

“Hahahaha! Mystery! Adventure!”, you cackled out. Now, since all we saw was a few pretty lights? I think we need to have someone to try the trinity knot. So who-“, you began before Aubrey stepped forward.

“I’m going to. I still want everyone ready to run, just in case, and last time they drained my sisters enough to make them pass out; I’m strong and it is my job to keep people to safe. Travis might work too but he’s hurt. I’ll do it.”, she said with steel in her voice.

Yeah, she would have been an amazing member of you old House.

“Alright, ‘Brey. Any objections from the Coven?”, and the worse you got was a sigh from her rival and a chuckle from Chris. “So be it. Emmy, Transfigure up a little cover so we have a bit of privacy. Then? We will go on three; everyone else, be ready to flee and protect the injured and young. Just pool your power and push it forward, Aubrey and be ready for a big drain just in case; everyone else? Stun us if it looks like it just keeps going for too long.”, you commanded while getting in position after your twin had made a little wooden wall to block people from peeping at what you were about to try; the fact the brave tawny haired girl was tough and taller than you or Em was useful since she could reach her symbol from behind you two.

And so each of your thumbs pressed against wood, pushed your magic forward, and felt a large amount of power flowing out like a broken dam disgorging water. You almost started to feel some fear at how much it was taking from you and the others but after a second or two the pull ceased as lines of blue-silver shot out and connected the symbols, your Magic making a perfect triangle before a fourth line flew down from ‘Brey’s symbol at the vertex down the trunk to the ground.

For a few more seconds the stream of light poured into the earth before cutting out, though the symbols still yet glowed.

“Alright. Kind of cool looking but that took a crap load of energy.”, said a version of you with a dark blue ballcap over a pony tail. “Feel anything break or junk?”, Em asked as you felt dizzy enough you thought the earth was swaying.

“Ah, No-I”, you had begun to say when there was a shout and Aubrey’s arms were around Emmy and your waists while she picked both of you up then leapt away. Right where you three were before there was a maw opening up suddenly, before a column of thin, gnarled roots shot up who’s pale tendrils seemed to writhe like snakes; at the top lay a small, ancient looking chest which the serpent like roots wrapped around and looked like even pierced in places.

Even as you stood and looked on in awe while shouting that you fucking knew it, the roots sealing it shut slithered away as well as just enough on the front to make out words engraved in the perfectly preserved Mahogony:

And… sitting right in the center of them was a blackened trinity knot necklace and a rolled-up piece of parchment with a wax seal bearing the Ilvermorny Crest pressed into it.

“It’s her necklace, the one that matched the one her niece inherited from her mom.”, Travis whispered out.

“I had a premonition there was something important here.”, you smugly declared.

hey quick question, do you remember how you mentioned how one of the sisters had a crush on Brandon? do you remember on what year they were at the time according to your calculations and who was it? they might get a mention later

So this is supposed to be about 3 to 3.5 years prior to DHQ. I kinda just ball parked Brandon to be like 16 or about to be 17 or 17, going into his final year while they are away since I thought he hadn't been out for very long since he graduated he got the Caretaker job pretty young. I just kind or guessed, so in this he would be he would have been 19 or 20 when Elliot going into 6th year.

I didn't realize CTQ and DHQ took place in the same year at the time.

It was Emily and this takes place in mid 2021, since it was 2025 when the Hallastars celebrated New Years.

I hadn't settled on exact B-days for the twins at that point just that the pair only just hit 16 and Macy is about to turn 15 on July 2nd.

Fuck with the timing all you want though. Close enough is close enough, right?

As am I. I like little cameos and references. I just try not to do too much with other people's characters and step on toes unless it is an altfic or lewdfic. A scene or two; something like that is always a nice nod though. I don't mind if he turns them into bull dykes or something, however. It is a nice compliment and fun for me, personally.

Something I thought would have been funny is if our new battle tutor in DHQ, who we never ever met, turned out to be the twins, kek.

0% effect on the story but would give me warm fuzzy feeling.

Looks pretty unanimous to grave rob but not desecrate the remains of Gormlaith's body.
