im sure there are loads of people out there who would be amazing mothers who have the mindset i have now, but even beyond that im not from a society where its normal for one parent to stay home, i have a full time job and i just simply dont have the time for a child even if i wanted one

granted if i wasnt single that would somewhat change but i cant (and i wouldnt expect a potential bf to either) work full time and take care of a whole human

Ahhh the job problem , careers or motherhood, this is your choice. As for working and being a mother , i think society has made a lot of regression on that part. We have forced everyone to conform to the male model and effectively rendered infertile a lot of women because of that.
Working close to the children should be something organized if taking care of them doesn't take too much energy. Anyway it's not going to be your entire life doing the babies.
All in all , this system is defectuous in many ways and i can't offer you a lot of solutions sadly on this part , but please don't make a choice you will cry over when you are older.

i do agree society has made it a lot harder for people (not just mothers but fathers too) to be parents, considering in the average society both people need to work to afford basics, and in turn missing out on a lot with their children. for the people who do want kids, i feel bad for them in that aspect, they should be able to prioritise the child but they cant

i still have time on the bio clock if i were to change my mind but i think its unlikely, ive never felt maternal and ive never had the urge to have kids, ive been career driven from a young age
