Just learned that not so long ago Hollywood and the mainstream media were on this sort of crusade where they encouraged girls to stay virgins and say no to sex before marriage with priests and public speakers going all around the country in musical tours with christian celebrities and offering sex ed programs to schools were they simply scare kids into not having sex by telling them they are going to hell for that in addition to getting STDs and such.
Does no one here remember this? I don't know sometimes it feels like you guys barely lived long enough to remember the past.
Anyways, I think this is such an interesting thing because it just ended up backfiring considering we have the hindsight of today, I wonder if we will see something like this ever again in our lifetime.

I only remember this being a thing with the Jo Bros and even Protest the Hero made fun of it with the song Sex Tapes so idk maybe it was bigger than that I guess.

People really think that nothing happened before they were born, it's like they count the past as whatever happened in the fifties where everyone thought and believed in the same things and political issues and events only started after they were born.

It feels more like America had a brief moment of letting off the gas on their complex around sex. When I was young the scare was around aids and teen pregnancy that kept people terrified of fucking. That faded away for a bit and then the scare became around getting abused (for girls) or getting falsely accused (for boys)
