I cannot fathom how the world continues to function with the existence of a genetic lottery.
Are people just oblivious? Or do they not understand the extent to which it affects them?
From the moment you are born, 80% of your life is already decided.
>Are you healthy?
>will you be smart?
>what is your gender?
>what is your potential height?
>will you be attractive?
>is your immune system strong?
By the time you are 13, 95% of your life is already decided
>were your parents wealthy?
>was your nutritional needs met?
>was your education good?
>were your emotions treated well?
I truly believe if most people actually sat down, thought and accepted that most of their lives were already decided, the world would break down
We live in a world built on the lie that hard work pays off, and everyone is born equal and the people at the top are there out of merit.
Knowing that a few nudges here and there in my genetics would have made me extraordinary makes me suicidal. I feel as if I was born a slave and there is no real choice I am afforded, just an illusion of actual freedom.
