Self improvement is a meme isn't it? If I were to make a genuine effort to
>Find a job
>Workout regularly
>Socialize with others
>Be more outgoing and confident

My life wouldn't improve right? It'd still be just as shit as it is now. Are there any self-improvement fags here who can verify my beliefs?

I feel as depressed but Im glad that I feel healthier and not as financially stressed anymore. Dont care for the socializing but it can be nice to connect here and there. Im not even an introvert but I avoid most people.

It works. Do you really think you are so uniquely broken that advice that has worked for decades for millions of people wont work for you?
You don't type like a sperg, so I imagine you're probably just high functioning autistic. It won't make you find the love of your life immediately, but you at least wont feel shit about yourself.
Go on a jog this evening or tomorrow morning, anon. I believe that you can improve.

I don't know. I want to self-improve but the fact is I am very bad at managing my time, most days I go to work and then come home and browse r9k for hours and hours.
>find a job
I enjoy having money and something to do so this improved my life
>workout regularly
I fucking hate working out, and it's not like I've gotten meaningfully more attractive or any more attention from women, so yeah this is pointless
>socialize with others
has its upsides and downsides. sometimes its fun but when I remember they all have girlfriends and I don't it tanks the mood
>be more outgoing and confident
never really tried it

Your life would suck because all of those, with the exception of physical training depending on why you do it, are normalfag activities and behaviours, and if you are not a normalfag at heart you will feel wrong.

Its called delayed gratification. Its works but you have to know when you are putting in effort to something that doesn't give anything back. For me I had to realize there were certain jobs that no matter how hard I tried I would never get.

In a way socializing is not real, normies pretty much talk about nothing. Its just that people will like you if you are attractive enough or have the right vibe they happen to like at the time.

Not OP but where I struggle with self-improvement isn't delayed gratification. If someone could prove to me that self-improving would get me what I want, then I wouldn't have any issue with it. The problem is that there's no guaranteed of any gratification at all, delayed or otherwise. Every time I try to self-improve, I have to battle the thought "this is a waste of time and will not make my life any better." And that's a fight I often lose.

only if you're basing it on what you think others want or expect from you. what do YOU want out of life, anon? improve toward that end.

It may or it may not

If you're in your 20s give it a shot

Older? Trust your gut

A crude hammer and a stick
I fully agree with him that having that crude yet elaborate handsaw ruined the comic
