Why is American suburbia so depressing?

Retards post images like these without realizing that they're almost always newly built neighborhoods. Most suburbans that have been around for more than 30 years look very quaint and nice.

>literally have to have a car to get around
>not mixed use with a mix of businesses and residental, have to drive to do literally anything
>often you can't bike or walk to other parts of the town city, the city may literally be cut in half by highways or massive stroads you can't cross

It's anti human as fuck

As a Zoomstralian I often daydream about living in the American suburbs in the 1970s or 80s. Imagine going out to your yard on a sunny afternoon and having a beer. Ah, kino.

As a civil engineer, it absolutely KILLS me that there are no sidewalks for half those houses. They are such a pain in the ass to retrofit after the fact and I'm pretty sure it breaks PROWAG.

Seems like the perfect place to import some indians.

That sounds cozy, though. Is it not?

yeah once some trees and other plants grow in it looks a lot better. the copy-paste houses kind of sucks, but still only really a problem with neighborhoods built in 2010+

Interesting, same problem but different reason.
I'm also 19. I live in the suburbs of Australia and I'm surrounded by jeets and east Asians. Very hard to socialise here. What >>81502842 said about having to walk a million light years to find anything interesting is very true for my area too.

Although it's hard to socialise with them, you're right. They mostly keep to themselves. Just sucks that I missed out on what once was.

Because it is depressing, every day I live here I want to kill my self more and more

Yeah would it kill to have a corner store, maybe a pub/bar, a park/playground/sports field?

And so much of the space is shitty vanity lawns that exist to waste your time and money maintaining them instead of nice looking trees, bushes and flowers.

its because its a new development

>it's hard to socialise with them
That's the whole point of "multiculturalism". Can't have the proles socializing, they might notice what's being done to them. And what better way to stop that socializing than by eliminating all "third spaces" and having ten different languages spoken in every neighbourhood?

In a way, it's kind of beautiful. Clean, new homes. An orderly neighborhood with nice sidewalks and pavement. You know all your neighbors are at least somewhat like you because you're all in the same income bracket. Anyone who shouldn't be there and is up to no good is recognized pretty quickly.

I grew up poor in a rural area and I was always fascinated by the suburbs. I liked to hear the kids that lived there talk about it. I used to watch those hijinks videos where they would melt an action figure with a magnifying ring and stuff like that.

I will never undestand who wants to live like this, if you want to live in a house in the woods like thats coold, but to live in endless row of houses with basically no yard and having to drive literally everywhere? These look like combining worst parts of every possible way to live.

>I suffer in America
It could be worse. For the British man's toil all he has to look forward too is inhabiting one of these tiny squashed-together pods.
