I'm genuinely curious how this even works because I remember something similar happening to me. Did you lay in cash or credit or what? Maybe theyre tracking your gps, but how the fuck would google know what product you bought exactly?

Your transaction history is shared with data brokers so your bank can make a quick buck. Data brokers sell it to ad companies to use for targeting.

That is fucked up on so many levels and should not be legal. but I'm guessing this is somehow accepted as normal and perfectly fine, seeing where we are now

>Buy something from Walmart
>Heard that receipt paper is basically soi but 1,000x worse and absorbs through skin contact
>Enter phone number at checkout instead
>Using the same card at checkout now prompts with a full namd dox and a welcome back, asking if I'd like to use my phone again

I always think this is hilarious because the thing you just bought you usually don't want to buy.
>Ohh you just bought a washing machine? Here, ads for washing machines
It turns out people who just bought a washing machine are the least likely to be searching for a new washing machine. It's also a product almost everyone needs so it's really weird to flag someone as "a user of washing machines".

Surely it's just cookies? I used to get this a lot until I disabled third party cookies.
