pretty much all developed countries are at their limit for how big of a population they can support with their current technology and infrastructure. the only reason places like africa and the middle east still have countries with insane fertility rates is because they still live in the environment where you HAVE to shit out babies to keep up with wars, famines, and whatever else in hopes that they make it to adult age and to help out with working.
