Americans are pretty much all collectively failures. I think people underestimate how much of the younger generations are raised on mass media such as radio, television and the internet. It's very terrifying how disconnected people are from one another and how this makes them susceptible to propaganda, but I'm starting to think that it extends far outside of the USA and into Europe and even non-Western countries too as a whole. The biggest problem isn't really the fact that their generations are slowly falling off of a cliff, it's that they are no longer motivated and no longer feeling fulfilled and don't realize what the problem is because it's something so simple and it's something they've practically never had their entire life. The sense of belonging. That's why it's so easy for them to fall into bad ideologies that are rotting them inside out.
