How bad is it? Do you legitimately have to be an 8/10 minimum and be super careful about not being socially autistic / making faux pas while also not being a broke loser to have most women attracted to you?

Rich chad is obviously going to have the easiest time with women, but do you really need to be an 8/10 to have most mid women attracted to you?

My experience with tinder was this pretty much.
Chad-lite in terms of looks with just okay photos, but noticeably a sperg when it came to conversations; 2 friends in hs, graduated as a khhv, etc.
Barely got any matches in a major city, under 10 in 2 weeks. Three directly said they thought I was hot. 9/10 ghosted the convo within a day.
Last girl was a nerdy, chubby girl with a good face. Hit it off talking cause we're both in college for engineering. Didn't even start flirting until like day 3, and that's how i got my first (and still current) gf.

You can get females through other means (status, wealth) but in those instances she won't truly be attracted to (you). Such arrangements often lead to dead bedroom situations.
I'd say that most guys can get a boner when looking at the average girl but most girls are as dry as the Sahara desert when looking at the average guy.

For a girl the idea of being intimate with a 5/10 guy is as repulsive as the idea of being intimate with an obese deformed 2/10 girl to a guy.

I'd say this is pretty accurate. I can get hard and jack off to the thought of fucking 4/10s, and sometimes 3/10s, but most women seemingly require the man to be an 8/10 for them to legitimately get turned on. I've been told that women have the same sex drives as men, that they're just pickier, but I'm still not convinced. For one, if you administer testosterone or other male hormones (androgens) to a woman, her sex drive with noticeably increase. This will even happen to men if you give them really high amounts of androgens.

The problem isn't dating apps per se. The problem is that there's no other option. Dating apps are hot garbage designed to keep you single and addicted to the product. But now they exist and the toothpaste won't go back into the tube. Now we have a culture where there is a dedicated service to go to if you want a partner, and trying to look for one elsewhere (i.e. approaching women irl) is seen as inappropriate, because if you want a gf you should go to the place where people congregate specifically to find lovers. I don't know what the solution to this is. I think we need a serious cultural shift.

Men have to provide or will receive nothing in return. Women can just exist. Your value as a man stops immediately once you no longer are capable of offering resources. There is no inherent value in being a man. This is not intended to be demoralization. None of this should be some grand revelation either. Everyone know it. There is nothing to do about it. I'm a man, and I've had a couple women approach me at the gym. The first girl was a 2/10 whom I would've never considered dating. I should've gotten the number of the second girl, though. She was likely a 4/10 due to being just a bit fat, but possibly a 6 or 7 in the face. I was in the zone and trying to get my workout done as soon as possible on the machines, as tons of retards can easily throw off your entire workout if they try to hop onto one of the machines you're using, since they often do bullshit like claim the machine for 20 minutes or do one set of 300 reps (There is this one crazy woman in her 60s at my gym who actually does this.) that takes over 10 minutes.

Cold approaches don't work unless you're 8/10 (like with tinder) and whatnot. You have to clear a high attractiveness bar for women to entertain a cold approach.
Knowing them through everyday life, however, lowers this bar significantly. If you can prove you're not a creep, that bar drops to like a 6/10 for most women if you're a smooth talker, sometimes even lower if you have a good body or really interesting hobbies and interests (which have the added benefit of just making you happier in of themselves).
4/10s and below are genuinely kind of screwed however, and forced to pick scraps among ran through ugly women who have realized they must settle for their looksmatch.
