I'm a 27 year old NEET and most people around my age who could be considered successful or "put together" seem actually fucking miserable, like on the verge of suicide. I recognize that's probably projection on my part, but even when I see 20-somethings with good finances and stable relationships they just DO NOT seem happy at all. Meanwhile my days mostly revolve around watching Youtube videos, playing retro games and pirating music and I'm as content as can be. I honestly wonder if it's because the way the modern social environment is set up, it's basically impossible to have hobbies.
