I would consider BJJ without striking extremely aggressive self defense rather than fighting itself. Don't get me wrong its still a martial art and it will still fuck you up.
Thats why it's so easy for older people to pick up and get good at.
Kungfu(i call all striking kung fu forgive me) on the other hand takes a high level of reflexes, predictions and instinct you have to kinda pick up from a younger age,
