>>81607764 (OP)>OP's image shows Roman times>everyone itt describing some generic fantasy version of the middle agesThis is a silly thread, and OP's post is obvious bait. It's being kept going by clever trolls writing ridiculous explanations of why things were better in the time of Game of Thrones, and people getting so outraged at the sheer stupidity of the trolls arguments that they don't realize they're being trolled.
HOWEVER, imagine a time in the future when everyone lives to be 300 years old, all diseases have been cured, and they have nanobots to wipe your ass after you shit. BUT everyone lives their entire lives in an apartment pod deep underground. Someone in that future world posts "Things were better in the old days, when people could go outside and actually feel the sun and the rain."
Every sensible citizen of the Future World starts replying "You're an idiot! Imagine dying in your 80s from cancer, or having to wipe your ass with a bit of paper! And if you actually went out in the rain you could get pneumonia and die! Or you could be hit by a car! Back then, every year thousands of people got hit by cars and died! Just look at this image of an urban tent city full of meth heads, that's how people lived back then! Imagine having to actually type out your posts instead of beaming them directly from your mind, etc., etc..."
Can you see where I'm going with this?
People in the old days didn't spend their days thinking "Fuck, when is someone going to invent electricity so I can have a refrigerator?" They didn't miss those things because they couldn't conceive of them.
