I will put it to you this way. Have you ever been stabbed by someone claiming self defense?

If not, then you are better than me. The only reason why I escaped prison was because it was over a misunderstanding and the charges were dropped. I had a skin graft for that area, but I had to pay for it myself. The person who stabbed me was fined for an illegal concealed weapon, though (knife over 3.5" without CCW permit).

Additionally, a gang tried attacking me five years ago when I was visiting Chicago (I was visiting my cousin who moved there from Minsk). I thought that sort of thing only happened in films (it was literally like a scene out of the second Brother film, which I assume that you have seen). Again, I was almost sent to jail because I shot them in self defense and Illinois is a very hard state to argue for self defense, but a local business owner helped testify on my behalf.

Women do not prefer men who resort to violence unless they are "bad guys", in other words, the gangsters can get girlfriends as do the victims who get sent to the hospital (and live), but where does that leave me.

I should preface that I do post on /k/ from time to time. Unfortunately, I always wind up in a dangerous place because most people that I know moved to one (Chicago, St. Louis, NYC, Philadelphia). If they are not still in Belarus (I am technically Russian by birth, as I was actually born in a hospital in Smolensk). I say that I am Belarusian, though.

Yeah, people think that I am stoic, I am not, I am just an angry guy who is trigger happy and knows how to weasel his way out of a situation.

What is even crazier was I was attacked on the telephone talking to my grandmother in NYC who wanted to know about my cousin and how he was doing). Presumably, this was nationality based, as the guys names were Voldomyr and Bogdan (Bohdan?), so my guess is that they heard me talking Russian to her (as she was born in Kursk Oblast, somewhere) and probably wanted to teach me a lesson for speaking Russian in their hood.

I see Ukrainians as my brothers, but I guess few see me as that.

What part of Belarus, by the way? Last placed I lived in while over there was Brest.
