I'm not sure. I don't want to definitively say that there isn't one. But I don't believe in a personal God like mainstream religions do. If there is one, I think it's more of a neutral force of existance like the roman concept of Logos. If we have souls I don't think we can experience anything with them without our brain, so there is effectively no afterlife, just pure energy that animated us escaping and migrating into different forms.

If there is such a thing that we can call "God," it probably isn't anthropomorphic. It probably isn't even a conscious being. It's more like a force that unifies space, time, matter, void, and the four fundamental forces in physics.

I do, but not because of His help, rather I'm gonna make it just to spite Him

I've heard somewhere "God is physics" and the more I think about it, the more sense it makes.

I'm not sure either but the world seems to be run by Satanists and if Satan exists then maybe God does too.

you know what my mom always told me? "it's all part of God's plan"
it was God's plan to have me raised in a household untouched by love
it was God's plan to have me take care of both my sick and dying parents while my friends were out having the time of their lives
it was God's plan to make stop believing in Him

I also think this way and is the most logical conclusion if God is what the christians claim he is. Calvin was on to something.

yeah
i think you're making too many assumptions about things we can't possibly know
>I don't think we can experience anything with them without our brain
what if they go on to inhabit something else? maybe your soul can become a tree and all the trees are talking to each other: you can conjecture almost anything

i believe there is a god and that God is good and loves us - he lets us be free
i believe God made us in his own image and that he wants to see each of us thrive and do well - God does not want us to be slaves worshipping him because if God did then the world would be such that we were
God gives us our freedom so that we might grow and develop ourselves even if this also means we can do wrong: if we could not do wrong then we could not do right either
we are made in God's image because we all intuitively know aspects of him: we all know kindness and cruelty, love and hate, guilt and catharsis, etc
our bodies too are reflections of this for they reward good behavior with good health, happiness, friendship, and family and they punish bad behavior with pain, anguish, and isolation

certainly, there is evil and it is often tempting to do wrong: to cheat someone, to lie to people, or to overindulge in sex or whatever
there are often temporary benefits to doing wrong but in the fullness of time bad seeds grow a foul crop
yet God still wants us to enjoy life as there are many things we can enjoy and often when enjoyed properly they are good for our bodies too
sometimes i wonder if God is training our patience such that we might become good custodians; we have shared custody over earth but collectively we're not doing amazing
as time goes on, more responsibility is given to us and taken away from God (nature and evolution): i suppose time will tell if we deserve it

i don't think about the afterlife - if there is God then he must be absolutely just so there is no reason to fear
if he were not absolutely just then why would you care about his judgement?

if i am a christian then i'm non denominational
i like the christians even if some of them don't really get their own thing

organized religion is probably good but i think we all have a personal relationship with God which should never be trampled on - we are all made in God's image even if it might be from different angles or even slightly warped
not to say that we can't help one another
i daresay, the fact that we share the same planet means we are supposed to
if God wanted dogma then we simply wouldn't have the freedom to deviate so the fact that we can means it's important for us to sincerely and personally arrive where God wants us to be without pressure or violence
a lot of christians are like this but i have to confess i'm not a part of any church and i haven't even touched a bible for the better part of two decades
i didn't like the last church i set foot in

i hope you find peace too anon
