Flying used to be an event to dress up for because it was expensive and the value was reflected in the flight. Now if you're flying economy, you're shoved in cattle class with no comfort provided because unions keep the laziest fucks employed at rates they don't deserve

For me it's because top CEOs like Zuckerberg and Musk wear t-shirts. That makes me feel like it's appropriate to dress the same way. Today I wore a red t-shirt with blue jeans.

You should go to a real brick and mortar tailor and get a bespoke suit and anything associated like dress shoes and belts. Don't cheap out. Then buy a tie according to your desire or at the recommendation of the experience of the tailor. Learn how to do a tie from those "for men who don't have a father" type videos on YouTube.

Boom.

You know how to dress now. Make sure to get your expensive shit cleaned at a dry cleaner and don't put it in the washer at home.

I understand the sentiment but most people at an airport are there to go on holiday or to visit family. Comfort is more important.

Maybe they should make airplanes more comfortable and stop making people strip down at security if they expect people to look nice. The airport is one place where I don't blame anyone for wearing sweats and sandals.

Unions have no bearing on the absolute state of air travel. If possible, the airline companies would just slash wages and keep the same "standard" of flight quality.

Wear something like this and you'll be fine. It's the perfect balance between dressing well and not looking like a slob.

Or you know show up wearing crocks, your cookie monster PJs and a band t-shirt of you want to look like a clueless tool.

I'm glad if he's getting flamed.
I like how the formal dress meme has died in recent decades.
It went from casual clothes being the norm at the office in the 2010s to work from home being the norm in the 2020s, and I hate the faggots who keep trying to turn back the clock and make coming into the office and/or wearing dress shirts or suits acceptable standards again.

One time I dressed up in khakis with a checkered dress shirt and a subtly gay man sat next to me and commented on how we were wearing the exact same clothes and seemed to gesture that he wanted to fuck but I just gave him the autist stare for 20 seconds and he moved to a different seat

Flying isn't special, wearing things that are t comfortable and easy to take off/put on will make your time going through TSA slightly longer which will annoy everyone around you.

Nah you're right and these dude replying to you are sad. You don't dress nice because you have any incentive to, you do it because you wanna be presentable to the world just because. You don't gotta wear a sports coat and freshly ironed pants but don't show up in your pajamas.

If the fatass in 'juicy' sweatpants makes you cringe, put on a plain white tshirt and some jeans and act like other people can actually see you and don't be a retard.

I went on vacation, once. I didn't want to buy extra luggage space, so I wore all of the clothes that I needed on the trip at the same time. I came back with even more clothes -- it was so bad that I got compression blisters.

I can attest that people treat you differently based on the clothes you wear. I was searched "randomly" multiple times. I saved a few hundred dollars, though.

They do that for tax reasons. I found this out somewhere but here's the chatgpt explanation
>In the U.S., certain fees may be treated differently for tax purposes compared to ticket sales. For example, the federal excise tax applies to the base fare of a ticket but may not apply to ancillary fees. This can incentivize airlines to charge for services separately to minimize their tax liabilities.
