Because I don't have to. I like the way that is rn but I purposefully made the coloring looks off on purpose because I used a crayon brush, I love this piece because I felt like I put my ideas to screen while simultaneously making fanart for a thing that I like

it's clear she's not an artist. She's not trying to be good at art, she's doodling for fun with no intention of improving. That's why the shoes are 1/3 of the total figure's height and have no detail on them. She's not trying, and when she has finished having fun drawing then the art is finished.

Start drawing anatomical dolls and then overlay details like faces or clothes on top of them.
Starting from the finished product won't do any good.

what gives you that impression. The original character doesn't wear scrunchy socks, and there is no detail on that element of the drawing to indicate it is anything.

Shoes tend to be uniform on the sides, not wavy like scrunchy socks. If those are shoes I would have to detract a point from the unsaid score I mentally gave it.

I interpreted them as boots because skwiskar wears boots, and the black spikey things on the bottom are the treads on the boots, as boots do have, and the fact that they are a third of the figure height is some bratz doll thing.
