I spent years in college doing IT but the people in those jobs were the most unpleasant people I've ever met in my life, the stereotypes are 100% true. Literally worst time of my entire life were the few weeks I spent at IT jobs. Now I'm a forklift driver and find it much easier as my coworkers are actual human beings who are cool and easy to talk to

temp hiring isn't really a thing because of labor laws so if there are not permanent employees then there are dedicated companies which are subcontracted to do that kind of work and working for those are competitive positions

How about joining the police or airport police? I went somewhere that doesn't have many opportunities unless you've got connections and a few people I know did just that.
