Every ~5 million or so people added to the internet makes it suck a little more. Once every living human is online, prepare for this to be the shithole of shitholes. Truly garbage.

I swear to you I was not racist when I got online (90s), I assumed everyone was smart, funny, and was enthusiastic about their interests. I made new friends everyday and was hopeful for the future. By about 2012 or so, my opinion flipped. The average person online was becoming a humorless, dull, angry retard who can't stop complaining. Then I saw the statistics on internet use and I realized I wasn't talking to majority white people anymore.

I mean here, old Newgrounds, old Something Awful, random forums around the internet. Fan sites, chatrooms, hell even MMO/MUD players back in the day were pretty cool.

Today, I really don't know. You'd have to find a very niche hobby and interact with a small clique of people who gatekept entry to their forums or discord servers. You have to keep the riff-raff out of whatever you're doing if you want to have any kind of joy on the internet in 2025.
